For those of you who aren't already aware, my name is Add and I've been researching the topic of our arrival in this world as well as the frequent disappearances and what may be causing them. If you have any interest in preventing these disappearances or returning to your own world, I advise you to read the rest of this post in full. I've been working on a project that will benefit everyone greatly.

In the aftermath of recent troublesome events, I've been reminded that I was going to ask this of all of you.

How many of you have abilities, whether natural, supernatural, or recently acquired, that can be used to track someone? Furthermore, if you're willing to explain it to me, can you tell me how those abilities work?

After all, if someone else goes missing, it's best if we all know who can help us find them, and don't waste time and energy.

I've spoken to a few other people about trying to put together a record of disappeared shinki, since it's harder to tell when they disappear than with gods. If you have a shinki that's gone or know one who has, talk to Wendy at the Shinki Sanctuary so she can record it.

[His link is to her previous post on it, so people know where it is.]

But the main reason I'm posting is that I've updated the record of events. One of the gods who'd been here longest, Midoriya Izuku (Aidos), used to keep a posted record of events here that he'd update every few months. The last update was in June, and he's vanished from here recently. So I thought I'd update the thing myself since I've been here long enough and people keep asking about what's been going on before they were here.

His last update is here, for anyone who hasn't read it yet. I'm not copying it here, otherwise it'll make this twice as long.

If anyone thinks there's anything that should be added or wants more information on something, go ahead and ask. But if you just want to complain about specific people or things, go make your own post. This one's for reference.

[True to his word, Shun will screen or delete comments he thinks are in bad faith.]

As some of you may recall, an incident occurred around October 2nd involving some ayakashi and dimensional rifts. This was the unfortunate side-effect of an experiment of mine, and I take full responsibility for what happened. If anyone has any grievances over what happened that day you can take it up with me.

That said, I do have some important information to share regarding what was discovered during that experiment. I'll try to explain the details concisely.

Conclusions/Theories

  • Our bodies here are most likely not our original bodies. They appear to be unable to sustain themselves when placed outside of this world's boundaries. In addition to the information listed above, we also know that shinki here are already dead, certain biological functions have been made unnecessary, gods and shinki who are killed can be brought back to life without any signs of injury, etc. The Heavens themselves only speak of drawing in "souls" as well, I don't think they've ever suggested that their methods would involve moving physical bodies across dimensions.

  • Due to our apparent inability to physically leave this dimension, some method must be used to draw out and "move" the individual's soul to successfully leave this world by choice.

  • No observations of this nature have been made for shinki at this time, but until evidence can be found we can assume that shinki would produce similar results as gods.

  • Whatever method is used to force gods (and shinki) to leave this world must have some way of manipulating and moving their souls remotely, as no other presence was observed in the July experiment.

Leaving this world, or finding the missing gods and shinki, is not going to be as simple as creating a pathway and walking through it. Doing so at this time is impossible. However, I don't think that means this is a dead end. We simply need to look at the problem from a different angle.

Instead of trying to make a pathway, I think the correct course of action would be to use the pathways this world creates on its own. We know that people leave this world regularly, and some unseen force is capable of sending them through a portal that would otherwise be impassable. If we can find out what that force is and what causes it to act, we may be able to manipulate it for ourselves or learn how to recreate the effects.

In other words, I want to control that force that removes people from this world directly.

This force may also be related to how outsider gods and shinki are brought into this world, so research into both topics is of interest to me right now. I have some ideas on where to start, but I'll save that for another time.

For now, if you have any questions or ideas you'd like to share you can post them here.

Do we have any ideas yet on how the soulless shinki end up the way they are? Any information at all would be appreciated.

Also, has anyone been assigned a soulless shinki that looks like someone they know?

So this is just a hypothetical question (really, I swear on my shinki status) but what if a shinki gets named by someone they don't want to be named by, or if they change their mind later and the god doesn't want to let them go, do we have to go talk to some higher up god or can we just murder the god in question and get rid of the name we want to be rid of that way?

[Mistakes were made.]

[As the video sparks into life, the focus is on Chikusa. Instead of the background being somewhere outside, or in some room in a temple, it's just... void. Endless void, in case that wasn't clear enough. If not for the fact that Chikusa's hair is still moving, indicative of movement in this weird zero gravity, it'd be easy to think that the background is fake somehow.]

[Instead of the usual blank expression, his lips are drawn thin in annoyance.]

...There's an intruder on the grounds of Epona's castle. He stuck me in a portal....

Someone tell Roy, the god for Epona, or Cho Hakkai, to tell Ken that I'll be back soon...

[Probably.]

I finished deciphering the data I collected last month. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, my detailed findings can be found here.

The coordinates within the portal turned out to be a bit more complicated than I was expecting. I was only able to complete a partial scan at the time, but I've already identified well over 100 vastly different spacetime coordinates within the data. It's possible that my Dynamo suffered an undetected malfunction during the scan due to the disruptions in spacetime, but it would be incredibly unlikely to see such clear and varied results due to an error. The more likely explanation is that the portal leads to a space connected to multiple dimensions at once, causing my Dynamo to pick up on numerous coordinates simultaneously.

Unfortunately, this means it's difficult to determine what coordinates belong to the "hub" dimension, let alone where any of the other coordinates go. Dimensional travel of this scale is also beyond what I'm used to. I'm working on adapting my technology to be able to visit or remotely scan these dimensions more efficiently, but using my current methods it would still take a miracle to find any of the places or people I'm looking for, not to mention an absurd amount of energy for even a single trip.

So what I'd like to know is, who here is familiar with interdimensional travel and open to the possibility of collaborating?

More specifically, I'm looking for anyone who has experience with initiating travel or observation between separate dimensions and/or setting the coordinates. Technological methods are preferred, but I'm willing to try and work with magic if I have to. That includes any gods whose domain might include something like this, even in an abstract sense. I'll take whatever I can get, provided it's of use to me.

New here, or pretty sure I am. I might have been here before. I remember a guy who was a god, my god, but I just got here and I'm pretty damn sure I ain't no shinki.

It's giving me a serious case of the Twilight Zone feels here. Anyone else had this happen?

[A certain someone got themselves dead after Sora left and has come back as a god. Memory loss, yay!]

Also, does every temple come with a cat or three? The horse at least makes sense.

[And may have been left some pets.]

At the beginning of the month, Ekko and I began working on a collaborative project that combined our technology as well as our status as time-related gods in this world. The intended goal was to visit or otherwise witness a specific time and location in the "past" of this world's timeline, approximately two months ago.

On July 15th we were able to successfully generate a portal to the past. Unfortunately, there were some unintended side-effects in the present. Rest assured that reality is quite resilient and there should be no significant long-term damage caused by the mishap.

I'm posting this information publicly so that it doesn't become lost or destroyed. Considering that Ekko was killed earlier today and will likely have forgotten all of this if he's revived, I'd rather not let all of this data go to waste if something happens to myself. I'll also be backing up my data somewhere safe while I continue processing what's left.

If anyone has any questions, I'll attempt to explain as best as I can.

[ The video begins at an unflattering upward angle on Gojyo's shell-shocked face. He's holding the phone at about chest height, the camera pointed at him. Judging from his expression, whatever he's looking at beyond the camera's view must be absolutely horrifying.

He opens his mouth to speak, closes it again, then looks down at the camera.
]

This is for anyone who knew Ekko. Chronos. [ He can't look away from the view in front of him for long -- his eyes are drawn back to it, again and again. ] He's dead.

[ He clearly considers turning the camera toward whatever it is he's been looking at -- it's obvious in the way he glances between the two -- but he decides against it. And there's really nothing more to say, is there? The feed goes dark. ]

(OOC: As of about 3pm on the 28th, nearly all of the remains have been gathered up and buried a the foot of a nice tree. There's no gravesite marker, but it should be obvious to anyone that somebody's recently buried something at the base of that tree, and the grave is shallow enough that if anyone wanted to dig it up, it wouldn't take much effort at all.)

Here’s a question for you all: what do you think about death?

Considering the recent murders, I’d say it’s something to think about, isn’t it?

It truly brings in the question of whether or not death plays a relevant role here. People seem to be able to come back to life, but seems to go from god to shinki or even shinki to god. Regardless of the reason for the change in reversal, it seems that one element in particular remains missing: memories.

I’m curious as to why memories seem to be the important element in deciding between a god and a shinki aside from the obvious.

So, here’s another question: how many of you were previously shinki who became a god? If you don’t remember your time as a shinki, would you want those memories back?

Hello. This is Midoriya Izuku for those of you who don't know me well. I've been talking with a few people, and it seems that while newly minted gods often get somebody to guide them through their arrival, shinki aren't so lucky.

I think it would be good if we could compile a resource for newly arrived shinki. There's no reason they need to be so confused upon their arrival.

As I'm not a shinki, I don't know everything that should go into it. Could those who are please say what they would have liked to know earlier?

Thank you for your time.

[ When the video starts, it's on Souji specifically. He gives the camera a bit of a wave with the hand not holding his phone, his temple's open kitchen and dining area behind him. ]

Hello, everyone. I've been working on lists for study groups, and references for them as well as investigative notes, but I wanted to pose a different offer this time. Hence, why this post will have attachments in the form of photos rather than text this time.

[ Follow his trek, everyone, through the kitchen and under the free standing stairs, to one of his numerous tatami rooms that lead outside on the first floor. He's immediately greeted by a chorus of meows and chirps, any sort of noise a cat might make when pleased at a person, and that's where he comes to a stop. ]

I've been picking up stray cats, as well as cats from the shelter that were having a hard time finding families, and have been working on socializing them. All of them are in good health at the moment, have had all their vaccines and the like, and are fixed - except one, but more on her in a moment. You see, I've been hoping to find them permanent homes, either here or on the other Shore. Pretty much all of the ones I have are currently ready for that, so I was wondering if there was anyone that was maybe considering a cat for a companion.

Anyone that isn't homed is going to go up for adoption to the other Shore, but I figured you all could have first dibs.

If you just want to come and see them, you can do that, too. The aforementioned special cat is actually a new mother, so there are newborn kittens here now.

[ This is when he turns the phone around, camera focused on the cats around his feet. That's the end of the video!

As mentioned, there are pictures attached. What these cats look like are up to dealer's choice, if they wanted to adopt one or coo over one in particular, and Souji literally has enough variety that any picture would do.

... he also probably has enough cats for anybody that would want one. It's gotten to that point now.

Awright, listen up, gods and shinki! And not the ones like me an' Hiyoko an' the others that've been comin' here from other places. I'm talkin' to the rest of you guys - the ones who already lived here before all this. You guys're supposed to know what's goin' on, right? And not a single one of you was able to see this comin' or stop the people who did it? What's the point of havin' all those shinki when they can't even do anything to save their goddess from some jerks with a photocopier and a book of matches? That precious perfect sunshine child She works so hard... tries so hard for all of us, every single day, and this is what she gets - a burned down temple that she has to apologize for. That's bullshit. We can do better. She deserves better.

I would first like to take this opportunity to apologize to everyone for the troubles that I have caused. You do not deserve to suffer for my sake, but I have unknowingly put you all through so much despite that. I am very sorry to have worried you all and I promise that I will be kept very safe, so please put your minds at ease.

With that said, I find myself in a position of making a hard choice. As the Queen of the Heavens, it is up to me to ultimately decide our choices from this point forward. I feel that it is important to acknowledge what has happened here and try to fix the underlying problems that have caused the most recent fuss.

Before I make any decisions, though, I want to hear from all of you. You all fall under my jurisdiction as much as any of the Old Gods and I would hate to leave you out of my reasoning and choices. I fear that we have done that for too long already.

Please feel free to offer me your opinions and thoughts on how the insurgents should be sought out and handled and I will do my best to reply to you all. Again, I am sorry for what has transpired. I know my apologies mean little, but they are the most important things I can offer right now.

And thank you all. Especially to those who came to my aid in my time of need. I owe you all a huge debt of gratitude.

So hey, is anybody else gonna watch Magic Girl Development Planning? It comes out next month, and it really looks like it's gonna be the sleeper hit of the summer season! It's all about these five girls whose fathers work for this big real estate company in Tokyo, but monsters start showin' up tryin' to take over the city with illegal building constructions and fake permits and stuff. And just when it looks like the villains are gonna succeed, the spirit of the city awakens and gives the girls magical powers based on the building and real estate industry! They save the day for the first time and end up workin' as special contractors for the company, and even their parents don't know their real identities!

I'm kinda torn on which one I think I'm gonna like the best. Their leader is Zone-chan. She's kind of an airhead, but she's an architecture genius whose powers are all about zoning laws. She sets up the magical barriers where they fight the bad guys, so that there's no permanent property damage when they're done with the fight. Then there's Blueprint-chan, the shy artist girl who wants to do creative stuff but keeps getting pushed toward engineering instead. She can summon up useful weapons and items out of thin air as long as she can draw them. Survey-chan is the no-nonsense serious one, and is an expert at seeing the strengths and weaknesses both in structures and people. Demo-chan is the spoiled rich girl, and her powers are all about demolition. She has an obsession with things being perfect and beautiful, and tosses bombs around when they don't meet her high standards of quality. Construction-chan is an athlete, and her powers are totally defensive, like makin' walls or reinforcin' things with rebar. She's got kind of a complex about it 'cause she feels like she'd be better suited to an attacking role.

Anyway, I think it sounds great. It's not gettin' as much attention as some of the other shows from bigger name studios, but I really think they've got a solid and original concept here. I'm hopin' if I spread the word a little bit, more people will watch it and they'll put out lots of collectible merchandise for the show. It's always important to support smaller anime studios that are willing to take a risk and do something that's never been seen before, y'know? That's how the art form grows and evolves!

So anyway, lemme know what you guys think! Let's get this fandom started!

((OOC: Anyone who tags this can feel free to make up more shit about this ridiculous fake-ass show and just build on what Barry's said here. The sky's the limit. Nothing is too dumb. My dream is for this show to become a sensation among the otaku characters in this game.))
