[Hot on the heels of Amaterasu's announcement, there's an angry post from Barry. It shows up as fast as he can slam it out, because he is pissed.]

Awright, listen up, gods and shinki! And not the ones like me an' Hiyoko an' the others that've been comin' here from other places. I'm talkin' to the rest of you guys - the ones who already lived here before all this. You guys're supposed to know what's goin' on, right? And not a single one of you was able to see this comin' or stop the people who did it? What's the point of havin' all those shinki when they can't even do anything to save their goddess from some jerks with a photocopier and a book of matches? That precious perfect sunshine child She works so hard... tries so hard for all of us, every single day, and this is what she gets - a burned down temple that she has to apologize for. That's bullshit. We can do better. She deserves better.

You've never experienced anything like this in your life, have you?

This isn't some petty little instance of arson. This is war. War is unpredictable and messy, and you can have all the knowledge in the world and still no idea where the next attack is going to be coming from. To have burned down her temple at all, to have that kind of access, we're already dealing with something more powerful and insidious than just about anything else we've dealt with here. She's not apologising for having her temple burnt down, she's apologising for letting it escalate this far, and if someone who doesn't care either way can tell that, you should be able to.

And are you honestly stupid enough not to know that spreading the information Amaterasu is a child isn't going to help her? Congratulations on endangering her even more than she already was by spreading the fact that she's in a much weaker form than most people here probably realised.

How the hell should I know? I'm a shinki too. All I know's I want to help her, which is more than I can say for the people who're supposed to be doin' that so far. These stupid flyers have been showin' up for months now, and nobody's found out a damn thing. It's like they're not even looking.

While I'm relieved that she seems to be all right, this might not help her out either.

There can be enough of us to go around and investigate, but if this has happened before and no one's been able to find the people responsible, then it could be someone more powerful than any one of us, especially since they've managed to set her temple on fire.

You have a right to be angry, but for whatever reason, there's someone or some people out there who isn't happy with her.

That's the problem. I don't think anybody's really been investigating. And if they have, it sure doesn't seem like they're gettin' anywhere. Keepin' the rest of us in the dark about it isn't gonna help her either. If they need help, they should ask for it.

I'm afraid it isn't that simple. While there are many that tend to Amaterasu that does not mean gods or shinki alike can stop or predict exactly when and how something will occur. What happened was awful and it is being looked into. I can assure you that....so please don't dismiss efforts of those that are doing their best to protect her. Many of such are her own shinki and did get hurt from the incident searching for their god.

What is important is that Amaterasu is safe. But you are right. She does deserve better.

No. We weren't able to see it coming. Perhaps in hindsight, we should have been more vigilant or perhaps some of us were complacent in thinking that what protection we had with her was enough. I will not rest until the culprit has been found and dealt with.

But as it stands, we have no leads. It would be far riskier to charge in blind and heap accusations without knowing who to blame. Sowing distrust amongst each other, claiming one of us did it or someone here was to blame will do no one any good. That is what the enemy wants. We're already in turmoil as it is with newcomers coming in at an alarming rate. If we start infighting, we won't have anyone to turn to when the true mastermind comes forward.

I know she works hard. She works as hard as any of us, if not more. Your concerns are valid but yelling into the ether is not going to bring the culprit forward.

Your Ladyship's devotion to Her Ladyship is the best argument in her favor. Your judgment in other instances is reasonable and sound and you have the thing none of us do-- experience, of this world, these gods, and this queen.

Zeno sincerely hopes no trust gets misplaced here.

You're right, that it would be riskier to charge in blind without any leads. But we need to work to find something, anything, more than we already have. And I can say that while many of us were human before we were brought here, there's still those of us with experience in certain things that might help the Heavens find the culprit *and* protect Amaterasu.

I'll talk to my shinki about it, but we both have combat experience that isn't that different from fighting ayakashi. But I've also dealt with investigations before, and would be glad to volunteer for that, as well. Whatever can help get to the bottom of all this, especially if it means that we can keep anyone else from getting hurt, or worse.

Her Ladyship may be an admirable person, but if her fitness as a head of state is in question, it's Her Ladyship's job to set that to rights. Whether that means she needs to improve as a ruler, or just be more transparent, Zeno can't say. Nothing we can do will help her in any case.

I don't know a lot of what's going on and why, you've been here longer than me. If you find out anything though could you point me in the right direction?

I'm a little restless and as far as I can grasp it, it's the job of shinki to be the weapons of the gods. I might as well do the grunt work.
