Hello. This is Midoriya Izuku for those of you who don't know me well. I've been talking with a few people, and it seems that while newly minted gods often get somebody to guide them through their arrival, shinki aren't so lucky.
I think it would be good if we could compile a resource for newly arrived shinki. There's no reason they need to be so confused upon their arrival.
As I'm not a shinki, I don't know everything that should go into it. Could those who are please say what they would have liked to know earlier?
Thank you for your time.

I don't know if it's so much what I wanted to know... it's that I didn't listen well enough that first day.

Gods get somebody to talk them through everything. Though I suppose not everybody would know what questions to ask. Still, they get a lot more than a new shinki gets.

Gods can abandon you, and other gods can choose to take you up. Otherwise the heavens may assign you to a new god once you've been set loose upon the heavens.
The magics of these Borderlines are complicated and, though there are many kind shinki willing to teach them, getting new shinkis mentors in this upon arrival may aid their quests.
Apparently some of us are from times and places without these tools known as phones. They can write down the words you speak if you know how to find that option and it makes the process easier.
Where to get clothes, currency for this land and how to get about in general even without a god assisting may aid those who lose their gods early or who have gods that lack the knowledge or the will to teach them.
[Phones were hard. Losing his god early was hard. How things work here is hard.]

I'm sorry you've lost your god.
Those are noted, thank you for your contribution.

However, it's still extremely dangerous to try and "force" memories by seeking out that information as a shinki, and there has been at least one confirmed case of ayakashi transformation due to learning of one's past. Still, knowing that it's possible to recover memories safely should hopefully prevent such cases in the future, as well as reassure those shinki who have recovered their memories that they won't immediately turn into a monster because of it.
The native gods don't seem to keen on discussing the topic of shinki memories, but it's not something we can avoid due to the unusual nature of our existence here.

Right, that's what happened to Axel a few months ago. I was there for that. It's impossible to forget.
It's new, so it's uncomfortable. I can understand that. But we don't seem to be bound to quite the same laws, so it makes sense to make a guide for all of the oddities.

teaching the ancient relics how to use modern technology
how to draw a fucking borderline without it falling to the mightiest stomps of the first fly to land on it
some indication that there are spells other than borderlines we can learn would also be sweet
basic information about nora including that we can be named against our will
on that note
people we can go to if we get named against our will
how not to blight our god
the whole difference between a god telling a shinki about their past and a shinki remembering naturally
also specifically that we turn into ayakashi if we know too much because some people dont seem to have gotten that message yet
theres probably more i could list but then wed be here all night
no subject
I don't mind if you'd like to list out everything. Information like this is good to have, even if it needs to be parred down once we start writing.

I am writing in regards to whether our secret scheme managed to work or not at the festival?
If you'd like you may remit payment in the form of sweets in lieu of currency.
Sincerely,
Ram

It would be really helpful and then they'd be on equal footing at the start. Help them understand the situation, what's alright to ask and what's not alright to ask for safety reasons, and basic spells that are necessary and how to tell your god to try out working together in vessel form and stuff. And about ayakashi and fighting and stuff that becomes necessary to know as soon as you step out of your god's temple in the morning.
[ D2 started asking questions about the place they were in right away, but he knows some people didn't, and that some of the gods didn't tell their shinki things they really needed to know right away. (That had frustrated him, particularly because some of the shinki involved there were his friends.) ]
no subject
It's hard when the gods get somebody to answer questions and shinki don't necessarily have a god that can answer all of their questions. I'll note all of those down, thank you.

I was brought in during the festival with the corpse problem. More than once, I saw others in my position who didn't have any combat skills.
If the Heavens want to use us to do their dirty work, they should make sure everyone can do something that basic at the very least. It would be a better use of time than shoving us into parties so that they don't have to deal with us.

Are you also suggesting some sort of battle training?

Hello, Midoriya Izuku. I'm afraid I cannot offer much insight into what you're looking for, as I am very new here myself. But I am very interested in the results of what you put together, especially if it might help my own shinki adjust to this place.
The only suggestion that comes to mind is if there are many shinki that come to this place with powers they don't understand? Ones they might have possessed outside of what they are expected to learn for their roles here. I've heard of several cases of this now and perhaps there should be something put into place to help them safely learn about this or come to understand it more?
no subject
That's true. Todoroki has his own power, but he seemed to remember it instinctively. I wonder why there's a difference between different people. Do you think it would help to have some kind of class where they can try their abilities? It's kind of hard when they're not sure what they can do.
