I've spoken to a few other people about trying to put together a record of disappeared shinki, since it's harder to tell when they disappear than with gods. If you have a shinki that's gone or know one who has, talk to Wendy at the Shinki Sanctuary so she can record it.
[His link is to her previous post on it, so people know where it is.]
But the main reason I'm posting is that I've updated the record of events. One of the gods who'd been here longest, Midoriya Izuku (Aidos), used to keep a posted record of events here that he'd update every few months. The last update was in June, and he's vanished from here recently. So I thought I'd update the thing myself since I've been here long enough and people keep asking about what's been going on before they were here.
His last update is here, for anyone who hasn't read it yet. I'm not copying it here, otherwise it'll make this twice as long.
July
For most of this month, there was a string of serial murders. Nine victims out of the newcomers: four shinki, two gods, three unknown. The first three incidents were in pairs around the 5th, 10th and 18th, then three individual victims on the 27th, 28th and 29th. The final victim managed to shoot her attacker before she died of her injuries, and the resulting blood trail meant a small group of gods and shinki caught him afterwards. An interrogation was attempted, but the killer's god vanished and he began to turn ayakashi out of guilt towards her, so he had to be killed before any useful information came out of it. The only victim that reincarnated was one of the shinki, from the first pair of victims. She came back as a god, but vanished again shortly after.
5th-7th: Tanabata celebrations. No incidents, but this is when Orihime started to communicate with the newcomers, and a bridge was briefly built to span the river she lives by in the Heavens.
15th: Start of the regular training gatherings, at the suggestion of some of the newcomers.
16th-17th: A time rift created by two gods experimenting caused most people in the Heavens to either become older or younger for two days, including some of the old gods and shinki. Some forgot their normal lives when they became younger, others didn't, but as far as I know, we all remembered the events once we returned to normal. Most of the library goblins died of aging during this incident, so this is when newcomers started volunteering to maintain it.
One of the responsible parties, Add (Henir), posted a summary of the experiment results and then a follow-up on the data. It's useful information for anyone wondering what happens to people who disappear from here.
21st: The Heavens organised a firefly viewing on the Near Shore. A "vent" (a hole to the underworld that releases ayakashi, as far as I've heard and seen) either opened naturally or was opened while the gathering was going on, and released huge numbers of firefly-shaped ayakashi. After we fought them back, the vent closed naturally.
August
In the lead-up to Obon, some spirits in the Heavens and on the Near Shore started stirring up. Just about everything from harmless ghosts to spirits possessing random objects to actual curses being handed out, or ayakashi and major spirits stalking people at night. It only lasted about a week at the start of the month, until Obon.
10th: Obon, obviously. Spirits were led to rest through gateways to the underworld, which were opened just for that night. Ayakashi were far more active, both trying to come through those gates and trying to extinguish the pyres guiding the spirits' way to rest. Certain malevolent spirits were purified using bonfires, for those who'd had one possess an object in their temple.
21st: A department store opening on the Near Shore got sabotaged by a powerful curse laid on the building. An altar was found in the basement, where another company (Fujisaki) was supposed to be opening a supermarket. There were several cursed ofuda placed around the building as well, written in a language nobody's been able to identify and containing pieces of the acrylic used in the altar. The building burnt down a few days later. I've looked into this one further myself, and it looks like someone impersonated the second company to trick the other into letting them in to set up the sabotage, as well as planting several saboteurs who later fled, but the specific reason still isn't clear.
30th-31st: The Heavens set up some kind of prayer exchange for gods who'd received prayers that didn't fit their domains to swap them with others. No major incidents.
September
10th: A harvest moon viewing was held in the Heavens, but some sort of spirit or other being sneaked into the Heavens and spread a spell around the gathering. Anyone who came in contact with the spirit would have their emotions amplified and inhibitions reduced, with the effect increasing the more times the spirit encountered them. There were no deaths, but there were some attacks because of the effects of the spell.
Security around the Heavens was increased after this incident. The culprit hasn't been caught, and the patrolling shinki believe they've left the Heavens and are unlikely to return.
20th: Some gacha machine toys on the Near Shore were contaminated with ayakashi, which made Near Shore people go mad for them and turn to violence trying to get them. The toys turned into full-fledged ayakashi when brought over to the Heavens, but were exterminated over the following few days.
30th: Reception. No incidents, though it was the first time Amaterasu had fully revealed her identity to the newcomers, rather than just the ones who spotted her when she came among us.
October
2nd: Another one of Add's experiments, this one with his temple's core, ripped portals open throughout the Heavens that had corrupting effects on those who spent too much time near them. Some of the ayakashi released during this incident were also "noise" ayakashi, created by the newcomer Susano'o who died in April and requiring timed teamwork to rend, that we hadn't seen in several months.
Two gods died (both reincarnated), but the rest of the gods and shinki involved were rescued from the core. Add posted the results of this experiment as well.
10th: The deaths of the two gods in the core incident and two gods who'd died the previous month caused calamities across the Near Shore based on their domains. Of the four, the only one who hasn't reincarnated was Loki, who was known for forcing shinki to nora to him and likely got himself killed in retribution.
There was an outbreak of illness in Tokyo as well as a violent streak among gangs of kids and teenagers in Chiba, both wild and pet dogs gathering and attacking people in Ireland, and ayakashi stalking children in Xi'an. It appeared to be caused by several powerful ayakashi leading, but I only fought the armoured, winged snake one inciting the kid gangs, so anyone with information on the other incidents should speak up.
20th: Preparation started for the gods' meeting around now. No incidents.
30th: Gods' meeting. Nothing significant happened at the meeting itself other than it being the only time all of the old gods gathered with the newcomers. Near the end of the meeting, a shinki came to the hall to warn us that a large area of blight had appeared in a neighbourhood in Tokyo, covering about two blocks. Living things caught in it were drained of energy and eventually fell unconscious, but they recovered when removed from the area. It also attracted a huge amount of ayakashi that needed to be killed.

If anyone thinks there's anything that should be added or wants more information on something, go ahead and ask. But if you just want to complain about specific people or things, go make your own post. This one's for reference.

Regarding the "Noise" ayakashi that appeared during my experiment with the core... I believe I know where those ones came from.
I don't expect they'll be making any more appearances, unless someone else happens to have a stockpile of the possessed chocolates from March.
no subject
I'll keep that in mind. It's been long enough since that incident that I doubt there's many people left who even could have those chocolates stored.
[He knows maybe a handful of newcomers who've been here longer than him, and only about half of those people have stayed in the same role and could have consistently kept hold of something like that.]
no subject
I imagine the Heavens confiscated most of them. They seemed to only emerge after contact with a mortal before, but perhaps they're not as dormant in that state as we thought.
Though it is a bit interesting, how an ayakashi can become corrupt by a god's power similar to how they can corrupt us with theirs. [maybe Susano'o pulled off something similar to what he did to the core? ... too bad there's no way to find out now.]
