Can Shinki get sick?

[ A seemingly simple question, but one that's been clawing at him for days. The symptoms have become too painful to ignore, so he bites his tongue and seeks answers because unknown to him, his bloodlust has begun to manifest. ]

Shinki can get hungry and tired though.

[ The goddess from his first night here. The fact that she's someone familiar keeps him in check. ]

It feels like hunger but it won't go away.

[ And it's painful, but he'll never admit it out loud. As for his god, he outright ignores the question. This has nothing to do with them. ]

That's a good question. You're feeling sick? I would say it's bad to ignore your own feelings, so you should trust them.

Not that I know of, at least. What is it that you're feeling? I may be able to help from there.

Have you heard of Shinki getting sick before?

There are certain problems that can affect shinki, such as blight, and we can be injured as easily as a normal human. However, I haven't heard of any of us catching a normal illness.

Being dead, I'd assume we are immune.

I don't know. My shinki hasn't gotten sick yet, but...
You can get fatigued and lose energy, so

[ He remembers this god. He doesn't trust him, but he needs answers enough to speak with him. After all, he had his own shinki, and one who hadn't gotten sick. ]

Yet? Do you expect him to get sick?

[ Considering he's a god and one he doesn't quite trust, Zero doesn't give any further information for the moment. ]

I think you can expect anyone to get sick
if they don't take proper care of themselves!
For example, staying up too late and not eating will drain you.
Even if you won't die from not doing either of those
it can still affect you. So, with that being said
Yes, you can probably get sick. But being a shinki
It may take something different than what humans need to get better.

Sickness from outside sources such as poisons and blight has been observed, but it's difficult to confirm if shinki can get regular illnesses without proper testing. If you are experiencing something, though, I don't think that's the question you should be asking.

Describe your symptoms in more detail. Is it just a hunger-like sensation? Does it come and go, or is it more constant? When did it start?

Poison? What kinds of poison?

[ Poison at least made some sense. There were some slow acting poisons that held a variety of initial symptoms before the final death blow. How he knows that... he just does. ]

[ No, it isn't. But he's never been very forthcoming with his own personal demons issues. Zero doesn't know him, but his personality feels familiar on a subconscious level it soothes his issues of mistrust so he'll be forthcoming with the symptoms from the start. ]

Hunger. Thirst. I've been eating regularly but it doesn't make the symptoms go away.

[ He describes it as hunger but its more like starvation at this point. And the thirst... he doesn't understand it, doesn't matter really because neither is nearly as bad as the growing pain that's becoming more difficult to ignore. ]

I ain't sure. I know we get hungry, and we can get Blighted if we fuck around too much with ayakashi. me, i'm hungry all the damn time

[ An unfamiliar face, but his words immediately tag him as another Shinki easing his mistrust of him, but what truly has him answering fairly quickly is that last statement. He was hungry, all the time. Like him. ]

Well, I know for a fact that we shinki can get injured: I've seen several report it on the BBS. Being sick I know less about, but perhaps we can try and figure it out.

It's not an injury.

[ If it was he wouldn't care half as much as this constant ache that grew with each passing day. He wasn't one to seek out help, but the hunger was getting worse and the cravings... they scared him. ]
