Can Shinki get sick?
[ A seemingly simple question, but one that's been clawing at him for days. The symptoms have become too painful to ignore, so he bites his tongue and seeks answers because unknown to him, his bloodlust has begun to manifest. ]

and the holy water itself is only good for getting rid of the blight caused by the ayakashi.
while it can be used to help a little with that kinda stinging feeling you get when it's blight-caused-by-a-shinki-to-their-god, it won't get rid of it. for that you'd need an ablution for the shinki
no subject
Ablution?
no subject
has no one told you about any of this before (╯•﹏•╰)
but okay an ablution is a type of purification ceremony. it's held to rid the shinki of the corruption they incurred when they blighted their god-- because it's not just the god that's blighted, really. the shinki, too, will have some kind of mark or deformity on their body because of it.
it's also very dangerous. if it doesn't work, the god is supposed to slay the shinki themselves. or the shinki could die in the process!! or so i've heard.
no subject
Do you know--- Have you heard---The past lives of Shinki---[ He keeps erasing his reply unsure how to put into words the question he wants to ask. ]
Can ablution purify anything?
Curses from your past life?
[ Curses that still remained with them. ]
no subject
(❁°͈▵°͈) um um, are you okay??
[ Because that he's asking has gotten her attention. ] upon death, you're not supposed to remember anything of your past life in the next life. i've never heard of a curse that could continue onto the next life to affect it, only the karma of what one did in the past life causing poor luck to happen in the next. but since the shinki here remember that they had lived once before, if not the specific details... i'm sorry, i don't know how that works.
but i am a miko-- maybe i can help? i used to resolve curses in my homeworld.
no subject
I won't put you in danger.
no subject
if you really are cursed-sick and i become cursed-sick, it's nothing a little hard work and some purified water can't help with!!
[ Is there another type of danger he's talking about. She doesn't know. She's assuming he has the sniffles.
OOC: would they have exchanged names in their other thread? ]
1/2
You can catch it?
[ OOC: Yes! ]
2/2
Forget it.
This was a bad idea.
no subject
i mean, now that you mention it, i don't know maybe?? Σ(,,oΔo,,*)
usually not though. i mostly just used that as a figure of speech!!
no subject
How does it work?
no subject
haaaave you tried anything already to help?

Holy water.
[ Considering her knowledge, she can probably piece together what that means. Whatever it was that ailed him, it was not blight. ]
It did nothing.
Re: Private - Text
then it might be something else. or you may need something more complex to dispel whatever it is.
[ A few moments later, she'll send the next text: ] zero... is this... can i ask what's bothering you? what symptoms you have? i'm very concerned, and i'd be able to help more if i had a clue of what ails you.
Private - Text
Hunger. Thirst. They don't go away no matter how much I eat.
[ He doesn't mention the pain, or the thirst that started clawing at his throat. She didn't need to know that. ]
Re: Private - Text
i believe that it's common for shinki to never feel full. but not-feeling-full and actual hunger is kind of different, huh? (;´・`)> what have you tried to alleviate that hunger? or do you feel that it only comes up after certain times, like after a bath, or when you're in front of a river?
...also, if you don't mind me asking, who is your god? [ Maybe she can ask him/her. With his memories, and she can figure out what to do from there. ]
1/2 Private - Text
It flares up... at different times.
[ ... when he was around other people. ]
2/2
It has nothing to do with him.
[ A steely response, and one given in a terse manner. He hadn't spoken to his god since his arrival, and had no plans to ever step foot in his temple. Whatever was happening to him, he'd figure it out on his own. ]
no subject
i just-- i'm really worried now
but!! okay, okay, it flares up at different times. so that means it doesn't have to do with an actual time of day. that's a start. sooo--- let's see. i might need more information.
is it before or after you eat, if you eat at different times a day? is there a certain color within your vision, like blue or red or gold? does it happen on the near shore or the far shore? do you feel dizzy at all when it happens? a headache? blurred vision? chest pain? do you feel faint? do you feel a tingling sensation? have you looked in a mirror when it happens, and if so, what do you notice that's different? is there a extra shadow around you? or a glow? do your eyes change colors? do you grow any scales or fur?
Private
Red. My eyes. They turn red.
It's only happened twice.
[ The early stages of a Level D which is why his symptoms were so sporadic and random making it difficult to pinpoint his condition without prior knowledge until it was too late. ]
No shadows or scales/fur.
Re: Private
i mean bad! i mean good that it's another lead! (」゚ロ゚)」
[ A moment later, her next reply will come: ] right so. eyes changing color in a curse isn't that uncommon, although it's usually associated with dips in consciousness, the feeling that you're being overcome with something negative, or a feeling of helplessness.... or conversely, the feeling that you've suddenly gained a whole lot of clarity or power
anyway usually when a human has them, it's associated with a youkai of some type or an animal. sometimes a human's eyes might just change when they activate a certain type of ability or power, and it's nothing bad at all! other times eyes are the first to shift in a transformation. what kind of red eyes do you get? eyes that are slit like a cats? or maybe a goat's eyes? or a frog's? in animals, red eyes actually aren't that common, but they can be found in some snakes or frogs. so i'm thinking that maaaaybe yours has more to do with something more youkai-like.
Private
His is instant and he reads over the text coming through to his device turning every possibility over in his mind, and in the end he is left with a single question: ]
Youkai. What are they?
Re: Private
youkai isn't really meant to be confused with 'mononoke' or 'ayakashi' either, though. φ( ̄¬ ̄ヾ) again, in my practice, a mononoke is a benign spirit of nature; it's more primal. ayakashi form from mononoke when ill intentions or spirit energy corrupt the mononoke, usually by a human. or an ayakashi can arise n its own simply from grudge or regret after the death of a human being when the human cannot pass on. the negative emotions corrupt the soul after death.
...although, mostly i'm explaining how it is in my world. it could be different here. (‘•̀ ▽ •́ )✎
i hope this is helping in some way...??
Private
Youkai... Is that what he was? Was he... from her world? The thought has him typing another message. ]
Can you tell them apart? The Youkai.
From regular humans?
[ He waits for her answer, the strain of it, fixing him to the spot. He needed to know. ]
Re: Private
although if they reveal more of their true forms, like if they have a tail or horns, they're easier to identify. if we met, I could possibly figure out what you might be? ah, i mean if you are one ?
