Can Shinki get sick?

[ A seemingly simple question, but one that's been clawing at him for days. The symptoms have become too painful to ignore, so he bites his tongue and seeks answers because unknown to him, his bloodlust has begun to manifest. ]

[ He gulped them down, and felt the edges of madness begin to disperse leaving him drained and tired, but sane. Himself. He remained like this for a full minute until his eyes suddenly shifted to the god, cold in their assessment. ]

[ He knew. What he was, what the pills did. How they worked. What else did he know? What more had he seen?!

He stayed quiet knowing he would not tell him. What had he expected from one of them. Gods who kept them enslaved in the most cruelest way possible - denying them their very identity.

He stood. ]

[ They had worked. He watched with an open expression as Zero slowly came down from... whatever he had been. Certain now. He was certain, but... ]

[ He didn't move from where he sat on the ground. He bit his bottom lip for a moment, then-- ]

...Zero-san. [ Hesitance. ] I'm sorry I couldn't tell you. But...

Do you... understand what you are, now?

[ Zero knew nothing of what had woken him from his reprieve. The only thing he knew was that the pills, the ones he had on him when he first woke in this place worked. Whatever they did, however they functioned, they worked. It was the only thing he gleamed from this experience and the rest... the rest were words meant to taunt. He couldn't remember, so how could he understand what he was when he wouldn't tell him! ]

You... and the other gods, you really are incapable of understanding the loss we've been forced to endure for you, can you?

[ With a heart filled with ice, Zero turned his back on him and his temple and left. ]

[ That was an unfair assumption. But Watanuki didn't say anything, just remained sitting, watching him go. Oh well. ]

[ He'd done all he could, for now, anyway. Now all he could do was hope that Zero had learned at leas how to control that terrible feeling inside of him, and, if it happened again-- ]

[ And what if the pills ran out? He had some ideas. He knew someone who could perhaps give him more, but, but... ]

[ ... Even if he hated him, he'd still help in any way he could. Him being mad wouldn't stop him. After all... ]

[ He was the God of Compassion, right? ]

[ Watanuki just remained sitting, watching until the rogue shinki disappeared from sight. ]
