Can Shinki get sick?
[ A seemingly simple question, but one that's been clawing at him for days. The symptoms have become too painful to ignore, so he bites his tongue and seeks answers because unknown to him, his bloodlust has begun to manifest. ]

I'd have given up by now.
And I've never known anybirdie that I'd call a servant.
[Geez, she's not Sakuya. But she is a pretty experienced hunter. And a goddess now besides. And she's already starting her search.]
Whatever this is you don't have to handle it alone.
[OOC: She is going to search for him. Both with mundane tracking skills and her newfound ability to communicate with animals. But I'll leave it to you whether she succeeds in finding him.]
no subject
[ With that he shuts down his device. ]
[ OOC: She's welcome to find him, if she wants, after all, she is a goddess of the hunt. With the help of the animals Zero would easily be found b/c he likes animals and although he stays away from people, he seeks their presence. He's in a Park in the Near Shore sitting on a bench. He likes it there because there's an equestrian trail that has horses and their riders trotting by his line of sight. ]
to action then!
Actually an owl, a handle of bats, and several alley cats gave him away. But she's not above cheating a little if she thinks someone is in trouble. When she spots him in the park, she smiles at the cats next to her.]
Thanks guys. Good job.
[Then she steps up to the bench carefully.]
Hi...
[She's trying to subtly look him over for signs of injury, illness, or blight. She's especially concerned about the blight possibility.]
How are you holding up?
Action
........
[ His mouth immediately slants down in anger and he glares at her in full force. ]
I told you not to come.
no subject
[Yep. Definitely awkward. At least she has the grace to look slightly apologetic.]
But you can yell at me later, okay?
[She's still walking towards him, but slowly and as non threateningly as possible. Now that she's closer to him her instincts are definitely picking up something... off about him.]
For now.... I want to help you.
no subject
Don't come near me.
[ He steps away from her, glaring the entire time. ]
I don't know if it's contagious.
no subject
Hey, it's okay. It's fine. I never got sick even before I became a goddess. I've got a good constitution.
[That much is true. And she spent a lot of time around a certain sickly best friend, so she's confident in her immune system at least.]
So let's start with 'how are you feeling right now' and go from there. Er, how are you feeling right now?
no subject
I spoke to others. I know what I have.
[ At least, he thinks he does. ]
no subject
[She takes another careful step forward. If it is something like blight, being close to him won't matter. As long as she doesn't touch the blight she'll be fine.]
no subject
Blight.
no subject
[She relaxes a little. She's dealt with blight before, so this should be no problem.]
In that case I know how to fix it. I had a run in with a nasty ayakashi once and I got a touch of that myself. As long as you don't leave it for too long it's an easy fix.
[Although... there were no symptoms of hunger or thirst. Just pain. So is that really what he has?]
Can I see the mark?

That isn't blight.
[She's not sure whether to be relieved or concerned yet.]
Blight looks more like a bruise that slowly get bigger and bigger.
1/2
2/2
And then he remembered the words of one of the Shinki he'd spoken too.... and immediately backed off. He turned his back to her, his hands clenching at his sides as he realized he'd been right... what he'd said about him... about what he was...
In a barely, controlled voice, strained at the edges he spoke a singular word: ]
Leave.
no subject
At least, she assumes that's what he's worried about. She raises her hands again, trying to keep things as calm as possible.]
What's wrong? It's not blight, so I probably can't catch whatever it is. We just have to figure this out.
no subject
[ A sharp rebuttal.]
no subject
[The word is still quiet, but firm.]
I'm not leaving when you're so obviously not okay. I came all this way to help and that's what I'm gonna do.
no subject
[ She may be stubborn but Zero has been denying people's help since he was old enough to walk, so he's got some years on her there. ]
I don't want you here.
no subject
[She frowns and puts her hands on her hips.]
And fine, you don't want me here. But I am here. And I kind of think you need somebirdie right now.

[ His teeth clench as he feels the onslaught of hunger pangs claw at his throat. He's taunt, like a chord of steel ready to snap as it rides through his system. They were becoming more and more frequent with each passing day, and he was barely able to keep himself under control as it stood. This was mild in comparison some others. This, he could handle. It didn't make him stagger, didn't force him to his knees. It was fine. He could handle it. When it subsides, seconds later, he lets out a shaky breath as his shoulders lose some of their tension. ]
You can't help me.
no subject
[She can see how he tenses up and definitely gets the sense that something in him being pushed to the limit. Like he's about to snap or break. But she isn't quite sure what it all means.
Whatever it is, it also pings her well honed instincts into high alert. This is the feeling she gets when there's a large predator near her cave, or when Dr. Iwamine enters the room. The feeling of 'you are doing something dangerous.' But he still doesn't look dangerous. And he obviously needs help. She can't ignore that.]
Give me a chance.
no subject
To do, what?
no subject
[She risks another small step forward and a tiny smile.]
Two heads are better than one, you know?
no subject
Symptoms.
[ He moved forward then, a predator stalking it's prey, stopping only when he was in front of her. ]
You already know them, but not the extent of them.
