Have you ever been in love before? Was it returned?
Do you think some are meant to be alone?
(These are the thoughts she entertains when her temple is quiet and her fires burn low.)
You need not get into specifics if it is uncomfortable for you.

I don't think anyone is meant to be alone, but it might be too complicated to be with someone, sometimes.

You had some choice in whether you had companionship or not, at least. I was not given such freedom.

i've been on the other side: people have loved me, but i've definitely never loved any of them back.

i think people can be alone if they want to be, i guess, but no one's *meant* to be. where's the fun in that?

The red string of fate may tie more than just two souls together. It is inevitable we meet those we do, both good and bad. Some are bound by that red string. Others we only meet at a passing glance.

And I don't think anyone is 'meant' to be alone, no. But being alone isn't always a bad thing either?

No, I suppose not, though I do not wish to live all my days that way.

I dont think there would be a lot of people in the world if people were meant to be alone.
There's so many people, there should be someone for everyone, right? (´・_・`)

For what it is worth, I have more hope that we are meant to be with someone. I just haven't found them and it sounds like neither have you?

I think... some people do end up alone for several reasons. I wish it wasn't the case, though. Being lonely is so sad. Everyone should have someone who loves them, and by that I don't mean necessarily being in a couple. Friends, family, animals... just some company and affection! That's what makes life precious.
[Even if half of the population of The Far Shore are dead, Kaya included, but anyway.]
From: Dali
I had a loving family once; only my brother is left and he is not here. I have made friends and they are what keep me strong as a goddess. But I am of an age where I want more. I want to marry and perhaps have children of my own.

Whether some are meant to be alone...
I spent a lot of my childhood lonely. I wouldn't really wish it on another person, generally, though there are some that have done terrible things that I wouldn't want around others.
[ The first question... well, he's not answering it, just in case. ]

I don't know about "meant to be alone." I think some people might be just as well off or better that way, though. And there are other loves than the sort that 'in love' implies. Not being happily in love doesn't mean being lonely, necessarily.
