Have you ever been in love before? Was it returned?

Do you think some are meant to be alone?

(These are the thoughts she entertains when her temple is quiet and her fires burn low.)

You need not get into specifics if it is uncomfortable for you.

Forgive me, but that is a rather foolish belief. Not in the gods--obviously that's absurd even by normal standards--but that there is a path. There are millions of people across what must be hundreds of worlds. No one, not even gods, could plan out every single step of their lives. It also denies humans any sense of autonomy.

Does there need to be a point? Are humans really little more than blind children who can't be trusted? Do you have that little faith in humanity?

Not having faith in humanity is fair enough I suppose, but frankly I would think knowing that there is no all powerful being who plans everything out would be more comforting when explaining the pain and misery. Then there's no reason to ask "why me".

You answered your own question. If you have so little faith in humanity, you shouldn't need a reason for humanity to be full of people who would kill others.
