Hello. This is Midoriya Izuku for those of you who don't know me well. I've been talking with a few people, and it seems that while newly minted gods often get somebody to guide them through their arrival, shinki aren't so lucky.

I think it would be good if we could compile a resource for newly arrived shinki. There's no reason they need to be so confused upon their arrival.

As I'm not a shinki, I don't know everything that should go into it. Could those who are please say what they would have liked to know earlier?

Thank you for your time.

It should be noted that memories have been known to resurface in shinki, as well as multiple cases of shinki being "promoted" into god roles. This is something that has never occurred for the natives of this world, only us outsiders, so it means that we may be an exception to some of the rules.

However, it's still extremely dangerous to try and "force" memories by seeking out that information as a shinki, and there has been at least one confirmed case of ayakashi transformation due to learning of one's past. Still, knowing that it's possible to recover memories safely should hopefully prevent such cases in the future, as well as reassure those shinki who have recovered their memories that they won't immediately turn into a monster because of it.

The native gods don't seem to keen on discussing the topic of shinki memories, but it's not something we can avoid due to the unusual nature of our existence here.

That's correct. I was a shinki for approximately two months, and I've been a god since May when my previous god vanished. [so... another two months.]

I'm aware of at least four other shinki-turned-gods besides myself, and one case of a god-turned-shinki, though I seem to be the only one out of that group who remembers being a shinki. Aside from the cases that involve death, which has been confirmed to cause selective memory loss regardless of what role the individual returns as, it's possible that some of those former-shinki might be different people entirely that were pulled in from a similar universe. It's difficult to confirm such a theory either way, though.

I had some involvement in the Axel situation as well. If more information regarding shinki memories was openly available at the time it's possible the whole thing could've been avoided, but it's impossible to know for sure. Both gods and shinki should be aware of what happens when those lines are crossed carelessly.

The gap in time between my disappearance and reappearance was extremely short, whereas most of the others seem to have vanished for longer periods of time, so that could have something to do with it. Unfortunately, there isn't nearly enough sample data to make any useful comparisons as of yet. We don't know what happened to those ex-shinki before they swapped roles, either, so it's still possible that all of them were killed beforehand.

Yes, this is Add. I forget sometimes that my username changed.
[but he'll never fix it because having a different name over the network could be handy...!]

I wouldn't know. Asking the person directly wouldn't do any good, obviously. If you could find someone who was close to them while they were a shinki you might get some information that way, though.

I don't remember hearing of any deaths. I guess it wasn't anyone important?

[this is totally an appropriate way to ask who died]

It's still worth looking into, but you're right that it may not lead to much. The real issue we should be looking into is what happens to gods and shinki when they vanish regardless of whether they appear again after. [... and that's something Add plans on researching himself, not that he plans on sharing those details just yet.]

If it was someone notable I imagine I would've heard about it by now. So who died?

Why would they? Doesn't that sound a little too convenient to you? Honestly, the most logical answer is that their fate is the same as whatever happened to the previous incarnations of the gods here.

[which is to say, most of them are probably being killed through the same method... and what happened back during that zombie parade supports that theory. But there's still no proof that the parade's souls weren't a trick, so he's not going to commit to that theory in full just yet.]

So you don't know? Interesting. When and where were these bodies found?

Whether he was dead or not back home doesn't mean anything. Maybe he died after you left, or maybe he's from another timeline where he did die. That's interesting to know, though. Make that six shinki-turned-gods total.

So the bodies are probably long gone by now. That's too bad.
[if he knew sooner he could snoop on the area with clairvoyance, but alas. another date to tack on the timemachine schedule, perhaps.] If they were individuals with a lot of friends someone would've mentioned their absence by now... but I'm surprised that there hasn't been any public statement on this at all. What reason would they have to withhold information if it was a death caused by normal means?

[So there must be something weird about it? He has no idea what that could be, though...]

[don't worry, Izuku, everyone is inching eternally towards death and he's sure there are just as many worlds where you've died for them instead!!

But educating anyone on alternate universes and dimensional travel doesn't seem all too important compared to the other half of that reply.]

Do we know for certain if these gods/shinki were natives or outsiders? [because if it's the latter, that's kind of a huge deal...]

Perhaps someone should be asking the Heavens more directly, then.

If these enemies of Amaterasu are going to be taking their anger out on other gods, that absolutely concerns us. We have nothing to do with her problems.

I'd rather not get involved in something that's not my business, but if that involvement is going to be forced on us I'd like to know.

Suijin it is. Do you know the best method of contacting them?
