[text] serious questions from serious people (aka hey look it's a shitpost)
Posted: June 14th
From: Davesprite
ok so
ive been thinking about this for a while but how exactly the fuck does this whole belief to god system work here anyway
i mean we have gods here that nobody except ancient history nerd basement cultists should be worshipping
riding high when some of the big names are spectacular only in their absence
and then theres the question of what bar you have to pass to be considered a god
like where the fuck are our incarnations of the flying spaghetti monster and ceiling cat
or less tragically dated memes
come on people they have religious texts too
[He's been relearning meme culture since he rediscovered it, someone stop him.]
i guess im not that faithful a person because the whole thing seems like grade a spun bullshit to me
but maybe someone can make more sense out of this most gordian of knots
discuss

I'll have to consider a word of thanks the next time I'm making ramen.
no subject
given the actual choice of what god you could be here
who wouldnt want to be the patron god of noodly appendages
if its the patron of ramen as well then thats got to be worth prayers aplenty from broke college students everywhere

I'm not so sure about the divinity of Ceiling Cat, who appears to have unorthodox hobbies.

But I'm not sure something like ceiling cat has anybody believing in it in a religious context.
no subject
how many people these days would believe in aidos in a religious context if theyre obscure even by obscure ancient goddess standards
id prefer ceiling cat to some of the ones we do have here
the heavens demand more presence from our feline meme overlords

the not enough believers argument would work better if we didnt have gods here that probably shouldve gone extinct around the time the pyramids were big
i mean if youre asking to meet a cat god
ceiling cat probably isnt going to be your top option
do we have any other cat gods here because if we dont then we should

I haven't the faintest clue what you're talking about.
What is a 'meme'? [Jennifer No. She also pronounces it like 'me-me'.]
video
It's pronounced "meem", just going to get that out of the way before someone assumes you're trolling. Hells of common mispronounciation, don't feel too bad, but it's been done so many times that some people just kind of leap on people who use it.
And this is probably going to sound stupid as fuck, but a meme is basically when someone posts a dumb funny thing on the internet that's easy to adapt and then a bunch of people copy it and turn it into a massive in-joke for a hot ten minutes before it gets old and they move on to the next one.

seoncd what is a meme
third how do dyou make your text like that
no subject
but then i am fishing for some spectacularly off the wall conspiracy theory answers here
a meme is someone making a funny internet thing and then the collective internet running it into the ground through reuse within the next hour before moving on to the next funny internet thing
its a vicious cycle
go to your search bar and type in html text color tag
ive done the eldritch majjyks joke on here already it stops being funny when you meet enough people who havent even seen a computer in their life

That said, I don't think it's really a terribly Gordian knot, but if you'd like I'll cut it for you.
The people here who are given "godhood" aren't actually gods. They're just people that were given powers and a role to play in some grand theatrical production. I certainly don't see myself turning anyone into spiders or smashing free from dad's skull, at any rate.
no subject
wasnt that half the point of him
that he was mortal enough to die for our sins and then immediately gets respawned because this fakeout death cliche shit is so much older than modern hollywood
we were given a role that was apparently taken by a more equipped candidate before us
for that role to even be a thing thats a thing the gods need to exist in the first place for us to take over for
unless youre suggesting some serious toke up and ride on down the rabbit hole conspiracy shenanigans in which case go on

well played now i cant tell if youre legit oblivious or youre actually just fucking with me
yeah the thing about the subconscious of mankind creating something through belief is that wed have more than gods if that was actually a thing
unless were arguing that cryptids are all secretly ayakashi and so already exist
which is skirting take the red pill territory but then you did just propose a crazy psychological experiment involving vr as a theory
I am so sorry for this.
