[text] serious questions from serious people (aka hey look it's a shitpost)

ok so
ive been thinking about this for a while but how exactly the fuck does this whole belief to god system work here anyway
i mean we have gods here that nobody except ancient history nerd basement cultists should be worshipping
riding high when some of the big names are spectacular only in their absence
and then theres the question of what bar you have to pass to be considered a god
like where the fuck are our incarnations of the flying spaghetti monster and ceiling cat
or less tragically dated memes
come on people they have religious texts too

[He's been relearning meme culture since he rediscovered it, someone stop him.]

i guess im not that faithful a person because the whole thing seems like grade a spun bullshit to me
but maybe someone can make more sense out of this most gordian of knots

discuss

Well, that depends on who you ask. The Father, The Son, and the Holy Ghost. The Trinity, or whatever you want to call them. Depends on your denomination.

If you're asking if I believe in God and Gods, I'm actually going to say I'm not sure. I used to think not but recent events at home have had me doubting a lot of things. So, no answer there.

What I do believe is that we were given a role, and I'm inclined to believe that we were picked more or less at random. Definitely not because we're more equipped than the real thing. But because they're desperate, perhaps?

It all boils down to minor things, and whether or not you like the Pope.

Not just supervillainous types, but I've seen a small child or two running around with godlike powers. That will never not feel wrong to me. But it will feel desperate.

Yep. That's religion for you.

It shouldn't be a good feeling.
Children do not belong in a war zone, a carnival filled with the dead, or fighting Japanese demons.

Even if they are perfectly capable of it, sometimes.

Better not to think about what you couldn't manage, and be grateful for what you could do.

One of the hardest truths for anyone, but especially kids.

Believe me when I say that I know.

It's entirely true.

I'm Lara, by the way. Lara Croft. The current Athena.

I'm not actually sure what that means.
But I have seen Hajime Ichinose around the network.
My Shinki that isn't one of the soulless is Felicia, if you've run across her.
