HEAVEN'S BBS | VOICE
I know everybirdie is really busy and there's been a lot going an lately but I've been thinking a lot about what happened at the party.
[Hiyoko is well aware that a lot of other stuff happened right after and there were plenty of gods and shinki still dealing with the fallout from that. That's why she gave it a few days. But now it's time to see if anybirdie else is thinking along the same lines as her.]
That fire was obviously set by people who aren't happy with Amaterasu. I'm not sure if it's her they don't like, or if she's put some unpopular policies in place, but we can't really ignore an attack like this. Has this group tired anything like this before? Have they made any other demands?
[Because 'down with Amaterasu' is one thing, but 'down with the heavens?' What are they supposed to do? Start hurling their temples at the near shore? That demand is way too vague.]
I also heard about an incident with poisoned chocolates. That was before I got here but the whole thing sounded pretty fishy. Does anybirdie else think that might have been an attempt to discredit Amaterasu? And if there any other incidents like that, I wouldn't mind hearing about them.
What you guys think?

There was a big ayakashi attack right when the second group of gods and shinki got here, but I don't know if that was related or not. The timing seemed kind of weird, but Amaterasu said she didn't know anything about it.
Re: [private | text]
Did it happen during something Amaterasu set up herself?
[private | text]
It could've been a coincidence, but I think whoever triggered that ayakashi attack knew when the new gods and shinki would get here. So they have to have known it was going to happen.

It might as well be me.

I don't think they've made any demands. There was something written on the papers, right? I had to leave to take care of my partners, so I didn't get to see what they said.
If there is a group, they're working from the shadows. At least for now.
Re: Text
They said 'Down with the Heavens!' and 'Down with Amaterasu!'
Which basically means they want her removed from power.
And that creativity isn't their strong point.
But they probably have other demands too.

As for incidents... There was the massive ayakashi attack on Feb 24, just as some new gods and shinki showed up. It could have been coincidence, but the longer this goes on, the more suspicious it looks. Although I have no idea how you could get ayakashi to coordinate like that.
The chocolate thing was on Mar 15. If someone was out to discredit Amaterasu-sama by that, they did a good job.
All the other times the new guys showed up, it wasn't anything too unusual going on. We helped with a boat festival and took down a weirdly large ayakashi in a school. There was also the first cherry blossom viewing.
As for the fire and "Down with the Heavens! Down with Amaterasu!"...
Heaven has done some things that I can't agree with, but I still think that we'll have to all work together to get anything solved.
I have no idea who would benefit the most from all this mess.
Sorry for the private text. We should share all the information we can but- I don't want whoever-it-is to know we're still so clueless.
Re: (private - text)
Thanks for the dates, by the way. Very helpful. Also you mentioned the 'first' cherry blossom viewing. What happened at that one? Was it completely peaceful?
And on a side note, I kind of think the 'we're clueless' ship ha already sailed. I mean, most of us just got here within the last couple of months. Of course we're clueless. I just don't plan on staying that way.

[Previously he would've proposed a heavenly setup as the most likely option, but after the picnic he's less sure of that.]

The picnic aside, poisoning the chocolates had to be an inside job.
And I've had a couple of people point out that a lot of these things happen right after new gods and shinki show up.
I wonder what's up with that.

[ Souji has to wonder if there's anyone in their ranks that might be in league with this, or if the fact that they were all gathered together painted a target on their backs. ]
I didn't know about the poisoned chocolates, though. After all these incidents, you'd think someone would have come forward to take credit, or make a demand. But other than hitting us when we least expect it, there hasn't been anything that I know of.

But now that they've started leaving notes, it's only a matter of time. We'll be hearing from them again.

It doesn't necessarily need to have been a large group, either -- the way that fire was spreading didn't look natural, so whoever it is, I'd wager that they have a decent level of magic, perhaps enough to compensate for working alone or in a small group.
If the candy incident I've heard of was an attempt to spread distrust in the existing administration, I'd say it seems to have been successful. That would make it likely to have been someone working within the heavens -- they'd be more capable of sabotaging something like that without arousing suspicion.
Re: Private
I was sort of assuming they had numbers though. It's kind of scary to think only a few people could manage this much trouble.
But yeah, they definitely have somebirdie on the inside. I wonder if Amaterasu is watching the people close to her? If we don't catch the spy soon, we'll be in trouble.
