HEAVEN'S BBS | VOICE
I know everybirdie is really busy and there's been a lot going an lately but I've been thinking a lot about what happened at the party.
[Hiyoko is well aware that a lot of other stuff happened right after and there were plenty of gods and shinki still dealing with the fallout from that. That's why she gave it a few days. But now it's time to see if anybirdie else is thinking along the same lines as her.]
That fire was obviously set by people who aren't happy with Amaterasu. I'm not sure if it's her they don't like, or if she's put some unpopular policies in place, but we can't really ignore an attack like this. Has this group tired anything like this before? Have they made any other demands?
[Because 'down with Amaterasu' is one thing, but 'down with the heavens?' What are they supposed to do? Start hurling their temples at the near shore? That demand is way too vague.]
I also heard about an incident with poisoned chocolates. That was before I got here but the whole thing sounded pretty fishy. Does anybirdie else think that might have been an attempt to discredit Amaterasu? And if there any other incidents like that, I wouldn't mind hearing about them.
What you guys think?

There was a big ayakashi attack right when the second group of gods and shinki got here, but I don't know if that was related or not. The timing seemed kind of weird, but Amaterasu said she didn't know anything about it.
Re: [private | text]
Did it happen during something Amaterasu set up herself?
[private | text]
It could've been a coincidence, but I think whoever triggered that ayakashi attack knew when the new gods and shinki would get here. So they have to have known it was going to happen.
Re: [private | text]
Thanks.
It kind of fits in with what I've been thinking though.
The people behind these weird attacks might also be behind the cosmic shuffle.
Because I doubt a bunch of gods just happened to disappear.
And then happened to be replaced by unprepared strangers who don't know anything about what's going on.
Right before a group of malcontents happened to start a series of attacks on the current regime.
That would be way too many coincidences for me.

1) Everything is all a part of the same person's plan or the same little group's plan. The old gods disappearing, us coming in, the weird events and the attempt to go after Amaterasu.
2) The people going after Amaterasu aren't the same as the people bringing us in, and they picked this time because the whole cosmic shuffle business is shaking things up and creating an opportunity.
I guess it could be different people doing everything, too, but they'd all have to be spying on each other to make it work so I think we can throw that one out!
Re: [private | text]
Right now I'm sort of leaning toward option two.
Because it doesn't seem like anybirdie has a handle on which gods are getting replaced.
Or what kind of shinki get pulled in

Re: [private | text]
I am starting to wonder what happened to all the gods and goddesses that got replaced though.
Are they just in our worlds now?
Replacing us?
[private | text]
Actually, I didn't mean that they're trying to suck in a specific person! Sorry, that didn't really read right, did it? I mean that they're trying to get rid of some specific god here. I don't know which one, though. There've been a few major gods to go missing among our group. Susano'o, Tsukuyomi, Izanagi... those are big names, you know?
Re: [private | text]
I could definitely see that.
But you really think the gods are dead?
Like dead dead?
I've just been assuming they went somewhere else.
[private | text]
All I can figure is that we're being brought in to stop the old gods from reincarnating like normal. Maybe they can't destroy all of the belief that humans have that easily.
Re: [private | text]
Hold up!
Is that why there are shrines and stuff but everybirdie has to work really hard to drum up business?
There used to be worshipers and they all forgot?
And what's 'reincarnating like normal?'
And why would somebirdie want to stop them from doing that?
[private | text]
Why do you keep saying somebirdie instead of somebody?
Re: [private | text]
Birds are the dominant species where I'm from.
Long story.
So what about that normal reincarnation thing?
[private | text]
Normally if one of the gods dies they come back as a kid.
Re: [private | text]
I'm starting to think I should make pamphlets.
The gods who die come back as kids?
Do they remember their lives or is it more like starting over?
[private | text]
I think it's like starting over. I don't know how it works for us new gods, though. That's the old ones -- you know, the ones who are really gods here. Not just replacing the real thing.
Re: [private | text]
[She really couldn't resist.]
Seriously though, that is really crazy!
I mean, if they lose their memories every time they die then wouldn't they just keep making the same mistakes every time?
Who thought up this system?
[private | text]
They might, but I guess their shinki can always tell them about what they did last time around.
I don't think anybody thought up the system. It's just how things happen.
Re: [private | text]
Sounds tough on the shinki though.
And even if we work differently I wish they would have told us this stuff.
How did you find out?
[private | text]
Re: [private | text]
Maybe I'll look her up.
You've been a really big help though.
Thanks!

Let me know if I can help you out with anything else, okay? I figure we've all got to work together here....
