Hello. I am one of the new shinki. I have a question for the more experienced shinki although everyone is welcomed to answer as well.
Recently I was lucky to meet a god from my homeland. This god is well-known as a powerful god. Plenty of people held this god in very high regard; he had many devotees that prayed to him for protection and blessings, and many temples dedicated to his worship.
In my world it was usual for the average person to set aside offerings for the gods they worshiped. Would it be right for me to give him some offerings then? Although I am not worshipping him right now, it still feels slightly wrong for me to not give him any since he is such an awesome god. Yet right now I am a shinki that is serving another god. My god has been wonderful to me since I arrived here and has assured me that I am free to do as I please, but I can't help but feel some conflict in this situation.
What is the recommended action for a shinki in this position?
[There. The wording might be a little rigid as if he's trying very hard to remain anonymous, but otherwise the question seems innocuous enough. Honestly he's seen how the past few BBS messages have blown up from a few heated replies, so here's hoping that the message is worded carefully enough to avoid that.
He's thrown in a few modern words in there too, so that'll help shake people off the trail too. Probably only the god in question would know who this anonymous poster might be. ]
