I'm curious about this sudden influx of "pets", but this is getting ridiculous. Pigs, dragons, demons, and now whatever this is supposed to be.

I found it in my room hanging from a pile of disgusting cobwebs. I have no idea what it's for, but it appears to be a small hovering device that projects this holographic cube form. The face and "ears" disappear sometimes. It won't stop following me around so I guess it's mine now.

It gets along with the cat. I think it's supposed to be simulating one? It vibrates strangely when I touch it sometimes. Very odd.

If it makes you feel better, Hermes-sama said that his pet was from home. So there is a chance that the dragon, the demon and your... alien(?) are from your homes. I guess.

But I think it's a good idea to keep a close eye on them until we know who sent them here and why.

That doesn't really make me feel better. What brought this on? It looks like other strange things might have happened today as well. [see: Yuuki's unsubtle post. Actually, that seems even more troubling...]

Anyway, I'll definitely be keeping an eye on it for now. I'm not even sure what this thing is capable of, let alone what it's intentions could be or if its been bugged by the Heavens or some other organization.

I'd rather not take any chances. All of this seems far too convenient. Even if it's a gift from the Heavens, you'd think they'd leave a note at the very least.

Maybe. Unless we gather more data from gods who can confirm, we can't really make any conclusive statements about these "gifts".

It does appear that it might be electronic, though... perhaps if there's some way to access any stored data directly, it might provide useful information regarding the item's origins. [but he has no idea how to control this thing yet, and he's not sure if sticking his hand inside it would be a good idea...]

Judging by the network at least two other people, other than Hermes, woke up with a surprise in their room. Reasons for that are unknown.

If it's a device, then it's probably lucky for you.

Exactly. The fact that Hermes obtained an animal from his home is only a single point of data, so we can't be certain if it's the same for the others. These things could've come from anywhere.

However... even if we're not certain of their origins, it does seem likely that they have some connection to the people who ended up with them. Whether it's an item from our past life or something that was picked out to suit our tastes, it's not completely random. For example, it makes perfect sense for someone like me to be given advanced technology.

Did you find anything strange in your temple today? I don't know how far spread the effects are, but it's worth checking.

If it can, I haven't seen it do anything yet. All it's done so far is follow me around and get in the way.

i haven't seen any holograms in a long time aside from my temple... i wonder if it's like the AI at Galaxy

I can't say the description is inaccurate...

It's definitely programmed with some form of independent AI, but I haven't observed it long enough to know how advanced. Elaborate on what this Galaxy AI is like.

there are many kinds! most of the ones i know just project holographic images but some can hijack into computers -- if you have implants. they're special devices attached to your brain. in Galaxy, it's commonplace to have them since they're known for cybernetics
