Quick question. What does everyone consider picnic foods?
It doesn't have to be fancy, or even cooked, just something you yourself would bring to an occasion like that.
Also, no alcohol. This isn't for a romantic occasion. Though food cooked with alcohol is a-okay.

I especially recommend rice, lightly sauced dishes, steamed buns, roasted duck or chicken, anything on a skewer, and hot soups in thermoses.
Perhaps cold soups, this time of year, actually.

And you mean cold soup like borscht?

You could bring chilled noodles with toppings and pour broth over them when you're ready to eat, for example.

What kind of toppings?

( He sure did yell that out loud. )
Rice and grilled fish and rolled omelets and lots of different onigiri~ ( Mmmm, he sure is getting excited just thinking about everything and it sounds like he could keep listing foods for years but he'll spare Nari. ) Hey, hey, are you going to have a picnic, Nari-san~?
( Anyone can tell by the lilt in his voice that he wants in on this. He's a good shinki. He's earned his picnic. Feed him. )

But hey, at least these are good suggestions if Nari knew what half of those were.]
Yeah. It's storm season, right? Next time we got one coming, I kinda wanna go hang out and watch it.
[Gotta live up to his storm god status after all.]
If you're not scared of storms, you should come along.

Because you're Neptune-san, right?
( God of the sea and storms and all sorts of big and powerful things. )
I'm not afraid. You're sure it'll be okay, though?
no subject
[Your god hates the heat and will take liquid sunshine any day.]
It'll be fine. I have a plan for how we'll keep dry.

I think if people are showing up, I'll need a little more than just that.

Sandwiches are pretty good! You can prepare more than one type so it's fun. Oh, also rice balls! Those are more fulfilling if you're really hungry. Fruit is nice. And snacks like candy bars and those bags of potatoes. I brought supermarket cake and everyone liked it, too.
no subject
I don't know how to make rice balls, but the people in this country sure seem to love those things. I don't. They have a gross sour thing in them.

you would not have to make a fire???
no subject
You can still cook things over a fire, of course, but in places with burn bans the stove is better.

But it's a common enough consensus that I'll consider it. Maybe ask someone to bring chopsticks.

and cold cuts are good for sandwiches, and stuff like celery and carrot sticks with dips
refreshing drinks, too, it's still pretty hot. don't wanna get dehydrated! ( ̄^ ̄)ゞ
and this isn't a food but i'd definitely take a ball or a frisbee or something
if i'm gonna be spending a nice day outside i want to make the most of it!
no subject
I'm surprised you gave such healthy options.
I doubt it's gonna be a nice day since it'll be during a typhoon.
