Quick question. What does everyone consider picnic foods?

It doesn't have to be fancy, or even cooked, just something you yourself would bring to an occasion like that.

Also, no alcohol. This isn't for a romantic occasion. Though food cooked with alcohol is a-okay.

I think it's just a different world. You don't have youkai here, either.

A youkai is a demon, right? Just a different name?

Some people call us that, but no. Youkai often have spiritual powers or abilities that would be considered unusual among humans, and we have some physical differences, but you might as well call us "elves" as "demons."

We're a different species.

Does that apply to everyone that's labeled a youkai? Or is that different between the worlds, too?

I wouldn't be surprised if it has a different meaning in every world. I haven't met many people who recognize my kind of youkai here, at least, and yet the word is the same.

I think if you were in my world, you'd be told you have a genetic mutation. They wouldn't even call you a youkai.

From an objective point of view, any trait is a mutation, isn't it? I'm no expert in the subject, but I can assure you there's a little more to being youkai than that.

I'm not a sunny day kind of guy. Too hot.

I'm not a particular fan of being rained on myself.

That's why you set something up where you don't get rained on, like a tent.

Still, I'm afraid it's not the sort of weather I'd enjoy going to a picnic in. Please enjoy yourselves, nonetheless!

At this rate I may as well hold it at my own temple since I can keep it from raining there if everyone is going to complain about it.

Actually I think that's a better idea anyways. It's a big enough place.

I'm not too surprised that you're getting complaints about the weather... but you can keep it from raining at your temple?

I can create storms, and at my temple that means dispel them too simply by countering them with high winds.

Mostly I just do it because the animals get terrified if it gets too windy.

I'll remember who to ask for help if the weather gets too bad near my temple.

What do you define as bad weather? For me it's blizzards and dust storms.

Pets and the spirit animals from the nearby park. I don't think I can count what's in the water as either. Just stuff that comes and goes.

Blizzards and dust storms would qualify, but I'd think, around here, high winds and dangerous thunderstorms would be more likely.

Not that I've seen much bad weather in the Heavens since our arrival.

Can't do anything about thunder. I can survive a strike, but can't do the same for others.

I don't think the big guys like bad weather, so why let bad weather in?

Things like dolphins, squid, octopi, ya now, the usual.

Ah! I see. I was wondering about lake monsters. Or kappa, possibly.

I think we may have a few of those at the bottom of the garden by the school.

There might be a few monsters, but they'd be deep sea dwellers.

Think hippocampi. Nothing super dangerous if they are there.

Kappa can be dangerous, but only if you're not paying proper attention, generally.

Hippocampi... are horselike creatures, aren't they?

What's a kappa look like?

Yep. Half horse, half fish, so like a seahorse but a lot, lot bigger.
