[After making sure that Hibiki is otherwise preoccupied for.... reasons, Wendy takes to the network. Her childish face is clearly strained as she tries to keep a hold of some composure. But this has been bugging her for a while now, and she can't hold back.]

Okay, how many people here really believe that a shinki going nora is some sort of huge sin or personal failing? Relatedly, how stupid are you?

And not related at all, does anyone have any good curses or insults?

It's when a shinki lets themselves be named by another god- so they can use you as a vessel too. But apparently there are people who judge you if you decide to do that.

It'd be one thing if they were just concerned on how safe it is, but that's not it at all. It's- [She struggles for a second with the exact word.] It's ignorant.

Have you heard about what can happen if a shinki doesn't have a god?

If you want a great insult you have to tailor it to the target.

How does somebody even stray, anyway? I thought they assigned us to our gods.

[She isn't against it in concept, considering that it's not as if their "gods" are actually divine in origin (mostly, the Valkyrie aside.)

Anyway, all a shinki needs to do is have another god name them, and then they'll be a shinki to both gods. I mean... Apparently gods can do that without the shinki agreeing to it, so that can be a problem too.

I don't think, ideally, that a shinki ought to "go nora." Loyalty and trust are important, morally and from a practical standpoint for gods and shinki, and a shinki with divided loyalties will have trouble dedicating themselves fully to their gods' goals if their gods don't share the same priorities. If a shinki isn't satisfied with their original god, they should by all means find a new one, but if possible, they should cut ties with the first one to keep conflicts of interest from developing.

That said, a less than perfect solution is sometimes the best that's available. A shinki in that sort of position shouldn't be shamed for doing what they have to or making the best of things. People do things that don't live up to our ideals for good reasons sometimes.

first of all ho wcan you just tell a shink oh sure just trust this rotaly random person with everthng when you cants even remember where yorue from also b ecompeltely loyal to them

its obnocksus to talk about trust and loyalty when shinki dont get a choice from start to finish

A nora is a shinki who's been named by more than one god. A god doesn't need them to go along with it, so you have those kind of people... but a shinki who does is considered a nora.

The only real problem is that a shinki then affects every god they're attached to... You know, for blight, and stuff.

I think it's the kind of thing you need to talk about first. As openly as possible. And I'm seeing too many people talking about things anonymously to feel like everyone does that when they take on a second god. It should be up to the people involved.

While I wouldn't want to be a nora myself because I would worry if any of my gods would have contradicting orders for me, I think it's not a big deal if everyone involved are in on it.
