[After making sure that Hibiki is otherwise preoccupied for.... reasons, Wendy takes to the network. Her childish face is clearly strained as she tries to keep a hold of some composure. But this has been bugging her for a while now, and she can't hold back.]

Okay, how many people here really believe that a shinki going nora is some sort of huge sin or personal failing? Relatedly, how stupid are you?

And not related at all, does anyone have any good curses or insults?

[She's silent for a moment, reading -- and also, occasionally, looking up kanji: she's working on this but her comprehension really isn't up to long complex statements like that one anonymous essayist's -- before she continues.]

You can ignore him. Some of these people have a good point about conflicts of interest, though. What if one of your gods tries to use you as a weapon against the other?

Then that’s something to be worked out between the people involved. I mean, even if you’re a single shinki, your god could still use you for things you don’t agree with anyway, right?

[A pause.]

….Well, and I don’t think my current god would have that kind of problem.

Anyway, those kind of concerns aren’t what I’m talking about.

Having a difference of opinion with your god isn't the same thing as giving somebody else the power to pull you right out of his hand in a middle of a fight. We don't have a choice about responding when we're called, do we?

[She doesn't feel as if she has one, anyway. She frowns.]

I don't think it's wrong, but you would have to trust both gods, wouldn't you?

...I mean. Has anyone tried?

[Yeah, she went there.]

Anyway, of course it’d have to be gods you trusted. Believe me- I know all about making careful decisions because of this.

[It's not an accusation: Scully sounds more like an abstracted observer at the moment, her voice distant.]

I only just transformed for the first time not that long ago. My last god kind of had.... thumb problems.

It'd be nice if they could tell us what that is, then, before someone does something stupid...

They're not going to give us advice on doing something they don't want us to do.

[Scully sighs audibly into the mic, and then adds, dubiously, because she can't quite squash her curiosity:]

[Like: an actual wild animal? As a god? There's animism, and then there's -- well, Scully can't think of anything to call it other than sheer incompetence in picking their new deity replacements.]

Well, as a god, she'd have to be.

No, I believe she was a wolf. I'm just amazed that they're even bringing wolves here to take the place of their gods.

They must really be desperate.

I guess.... I'm not really religious, so I don't know anything about that.

I'm just thinking about issues like.

Maybe that's why they gave her a shinki like me? I have thumbs.
