Good afternoon, everyone. Please excuse my change of name: this is Cho Hakkai.

I appear to have reappeared. Although I don't want to give undue hope to anyone who's recently lost a god or shinki, I'd like to announce that my classes will be continuing as usual.

To those who were living upstairs at the school the past few days, I expect you to help me clean up the mess. You know who you are.

[There are animal cracker crumbs everywhere.

And apart from that he's just not going to mention the events of last few days. At least he wasn't an actual child, but....]

Does anyone have an idea what might have caused it? I'm certain I felt something in the air for a few hours before it happened.

it feels like a random thing through other means would have more of a trend. too random you know? like whoever did it either didnt or couldnt try to push things a certain way.

if that doesnt make sense then i dunno. call it a gut feeling.

In other words, "they're trying too hard to make it look random"?

Hm. That's an interesting idea!

It would take a lot of power for someone to do something like that deliberately, though, don't you think?

i dont think they tried to make it look random. i think they pushed for it to be random instead of something specific. like they didnt care as long as most peoples ages were messed with. however it turned out would do.

[ Honestly, for all that it was, it felt like there was probably something else going on that no one noticed. ]

Then there would have to be a motive, don't you think?

That's a great deal of effort and power to use just for a distraction.

maybe it was worth it for them. its not like im the smart or detective type you know.

its just my gut that says this is someones work

i cant give reliable reasons or clues that point to it being that way.

Intuition can be based on subconscious hints!

Of course, it can also be based on bad assumptions, which is why it's important to question a gut feeling before you act.

[Not that it's necessarily bad to be honest about your strengths, of course.]

yeah well thats the best i can explain it

it just doesnt seem right if its random through natural or accidental means. between that and other shit before it happened

[ Strength is something else- he's just honest about his weaknesses. Though Hakkai probably has the best experience with Shizuo's intuition-based assumptions. ]

The timing alone makes me think it isn't accidental. Considering past events.

yeah. after i arrived it seems like theres always something followed by dead bodies whenever new people show up

They don't all come with dead bodies, but enough of them have, yes.

seems like its been all of them. thats probably the timing of when i showed up more than anything else

From what I hear, Tanabata was fairly quiet, although I stayed in that day.

quiet but a festival is busy as it is isnt it? i heard there were 2 more bodies found not too long after everything was cleaned up

[Murder is one thing -- and those murders, from what he's heard so far, have been rather individual and selective.

They're not widespread ayakashi releases, or shambling corpses. Which makes him consider the festival a quiet time by comparison.]

the ones that were found the day of the festival were at a park. more were found a few days later at another park

I have to say, it doesn't sound like the sort of thing that's usually associated with arrivals. Unless they were ritually sacrificed?
