[ The video opens to Nanako sprawled on her stomach, kicking her feet in the air behind her but her expression is one of serious thought. Although she looks a little shy and uncertain about leaving a message like this, she also looks pretty determined, too. This... hadn't been something she was sure about asking her big brother, so instead she tries here. Maybe that will be easier? Or people will be less quick to guess why she might be asking... ]

Sooo.... this is heaven, right? And where people go after they die?

If someone died a while ago, can you find them here somewhere?

[ You know what else is hard? Technology. Lux is still trying to get a handle on it, so instead of being graced with the shinki's face, Nanako gets a view of a simple glass window. From the looks of things, it appears this is being broadcast from higher up? The second floor maybe? It looks nice at least, with the branches of a nearby tree rustling gently in the early summer breeze.

Ah...

It doesn't take much to be able to figure out what the young god is suggesting, and while she might not be able to see her face, there's a somewhat serene tone to her voice. ]

Is there someone you want to see, Nanako?

It's possible, but highly unlikely. This isn't the only "afterlife" out there, I imagine this world is just one of many that the dead can end up in.

And even if someone you knew did end up here, there's only about a fifty-fifty chance they'd remember you. [Assuming it really is random who gets picked to be a god or a shinki, at least.]

[ A hesitation from Nanako as she thinks over that answer very seriously. This one was almost easier to answer than the ones asking 'who'. ]

I want to know if they're safe. Or happy.

[ And maybe just to see them one more time, so maybe she could remember better. ]

[ He'd wondered about that too, but he's yet to see his father lurking around anywhere. He's not sure what he'd do if he did run into him after... everything, but he suspects this is just an entirely different world. ]

Doubt this is the same heaven where all dead people end up. Just seems like some kind of alternate dimension or something.

[ Might be confusing for a child using those big words, and his face softens up considerably, thinking of an easier way to put it- ]

[The camera clicks on to show a tall, broad, stern-faced man on the veranda between a Japanese-style garden and what looks like perhaps a dojo. He might be taking a break from training, since he's dressed in simple, traditional clothes and wiping a bit of sweat from his brow.]

Is that a path you really want to go down?

[He's thought the same thing, of course. Every single day. All of his family, all of his men -- all of them must have existed in this world, if he did, so all of them must be dead now... but what would come of looking for them?]

There aren't easy answers to those sorts of questions.
