a question for shinki... and gods too, i guess. i dont know if this has been asked already... i rarely look at this thing so i wouldnt know. but im curious: what makes your god trustworthy? is it how they present themselves, or what they do as an individual? what made you realize that being their shinki wasn't an issue, even if you had no choice in the matter?

if youre a god reading this... how would you go about earning a shinkis trust?

Trust is how you define it. Do you trust your god as an authority, an ally, or a friend?

I'll use myself as an example. My god has a poor sense of judgement and is a bleeding heart. I don't trust him to make logical decisions in a crisis, but he has exhibited behavior that allows me to trust that he won't deceive me or cause me intentional harm.

Have you truly studied your god's behavioral patterns? Have they done anything to make you mistrust them completely? Can your god even trust you? We shinki have more power in this bond than we allow ourselves to think.

With this post, you open yourself up to those that are perhaps jealous of their god's power or resent their gods because of just a personal argument.

Treat your god like you would anyone else and you'll find your result there.

Ah. So you have a fussy god as well, do you? I can understand how that would be irritating if you're fiercely independent. We can't help our gods' personalities, unfortunately, no matter how "annoying" they can get. That's why I pick on my god from time to time.

I don't think many of us had much of a choice in the matter. I would have never chosen my god to wield me because he has not a clue about fighting anything. But I have seen what happened to shinki that go unclaimed. They have no direction, their minds start to wander, and eventually they fall.

And if you have yet to see your god's power, he either uses it very rationally or he has no idea what he's doing. Mine, personally, is the latter.

In the end, you're both just trying to make heads or tails of the situation we've all been thrown into.

You call it mean, I call it keeping them in check and on their toes.

The finite details of that matter belong to my god, I'm afraid. But I had to deal with the ayakashi myself.

I've had a bit of training with my god as well. So yes, all we can ask is for them to at least try.

And yes, while it is irksome, it's necessary growing pains.

My god didn't have the ability to destroy it. He has yet to be able to utilize me correctly. But that's neither here nor there.

Do what you will with my advice. I normally don't hand it out.

It was probably destroyed by a different god-shinki duo or trio or whatever.

Lucky you indeed.
