Why are so many of you so young? I'm not the only one at a more mature age, am I? Is anyone over 20? I'm getting wrinkles just thinking about this.

[He's just 25 but if he has one more person tell him they're too young to drink when he thought they were older... his heart can't take it.]

To be fair, the medium ground between 18 and 118 is 68, which is still a little outside of my preferred peer group. Not to mention all the 14 and 15 year olds around as well.

But yes, it would be nice if there was an easier way to connect with peers. I do need more adult friends.

But you're right, it would be nice just to see more people our age. Most of my drinking partners have been younger than me...

That's not wrong, but I would feel a woman of that age would be closer to a mentor figure than a drinking partner, regardless of her beauty.

I'm afraid I'm not much of a drinker, however, although I'm not opposed to meeting for coffee or tea. I've found I'm a bit of a sulky drunk.

Sulky, really? Alcohol should be enjoyed, so it's a shame if it only gets you down. I do enjoy tea, though. What kind?

It's not really something I'm interested in. I would enjoy a sparring partner more than a drinking partner.

It may partially be a matter of context. I suppose the right partner and environment could keep me from dwelling on my worries. I've always been a bit married to my work, however, so such an arrangement has never come up.

I like tea of all kinds, but especially green tea and those with fruit flavors. Sora recently got me to try bubble tea - it has little beads of fruit juice in it, it's frivolous, but I must admit that it's fun.

Hand to hand, or do you use a weapon?

Maybe the key is to drink while sparring.

Either is fine. I primarily use a sword for work, but brushing up my hand to hand skills is never a bad thing.

I... [He's actually considering it. He can see it going poorly, but he's confident he has enough fortitude to be able to keep his balance while intoxicated thanks to his training. The worst thing that could happen is that he gets over-excited and kills someone in his enthusiasm.] We should probably spar sober before hand, so that I can properly gauge your strength.

There's a shop at the mall on the Near Shore that sells it. I could show you where it is sometime, if you like.

[Hmm. He doesn't normally spar since his strength isn't human... He's not sure if he ever sparred back home, either! And feet against a sword... Even if he could dodge, that might be odd. Still, maybe he should be practicing outside of just with Hazel?]

I'm more concerned about accidentally killing you, actually. Now that Saitama's gone, I'm the strongest fighter from my world. I'm certain that it would be easy for me to win against you, even if I was intoxicated.

I have largely nothing but free time on my hands. My new shinki and I are still taking the time to get to know each other before we take on any prayers. I have tomorrow afternoon open, if you're free?

I'm not really interested in dying... again... Is that really a risk if you're not careful? I don't want to find something like that out at all!

That's why I suggested sparring sober first. I'm not interested in killing you, either. However, alcohol lowers your inhibitions, so I might not be able to hold back if we went in blind. Knowing how much force I could exert could help keep me from losing my control.

Or you could just make sure to disarm me first.

I suppose you could say that. In my world, I was known as Speed of Sound Sonic, the Ultimate Modern Ninja. I was raised in a ninja village and spent my childhood perfecting my techniques. Only a very select few have seen through my techniques, and I intend to keep it that way.
