Does anyone have any experience with the care of small, white dragons? What foods do they prefer?

What is the best way to determine their mood: head movements? Wings? Tail? Vocalizations?

Specifically, how can you tell when they are about to bite?

[Not that he's failed to tell he was about to be bitten a few times already. Of course not.

There is a picture of a small, snaky-bodied white dragon with a ruff running all the way down its long neck attached. In the picture, the dragon is flaring its wings over a plate of raw hamburger with a look of serious annoyance and its mouth wide open in a silent kyuuuu!]

Oh, he's beautiful.

Most of that will vary by individual, as with any creature, so it might take some time to learn what his particular tells are.

That said, he doesn't look very pleased with what you've offered him. Perhaps you should try cooking it. Or you might let him raid your kitchen so he can find what he likes for himself.

[Including the one about allowing him to raid the kitchen. Hakkai still doesn't like that idea very much, though.]

He is a handsome dragon, isn't he? Although I had rather thought they were larger.

He could have an ability that allows him to change size, or he could only be a child.

He is very handsome. You should make sure he knows you think so. Where did you find him?

I will. He woke me this morning flapping around my bedroom trying to find a way out. Ah, speaking of, I'll need a new water pitcher...

I think he was as startled to find himself there as I was to find him!

How odd. But yes, I'd imagine so. Arriving somewhere you don't expect would be starting for anyone.

I realize you don't know me and you've undoubtedly had a number of requests by now, but I seem to have a lot of experience with dragons. Could I come by and meet him?

Yes, if he doesn't mind. He seems to be all right with visitors so far.

What sort of experience have you had with dragons?

To be honest, I don't remember. But when I look at him, I just know. I know what his scales should look like if he's healthy or if he hasn't eaten in a while. I know what foods he might prefer or what he's likely to stay away from.

Well, not this particular dragon, of course, but in general. But it's the most sure I've felt about anything so far, so that must mean something.
