I guess it'd kind of depend on the person, since everyone likes different things.. But it's always about doing something special for them. Like if you'd skip a day of work or school just to stay home or hang around with that person. Buying them some gift that might have a very special meaning only the two of you would understand, doing something super nice for them that others usually don't.. Those sort of things!
Well, I guess I can see why then.. If you're putting in genuine effort though, then I'm sure that person's friends will eventually realise that your intentions are good now.
So maybe hold off just a little bit on going on dates or anything like that with the person you like until after that? Trust me, it's really hard to get anything like that done with protective friends in the way! Unless you're some sort of super sneaky master spy!
I can already tell you they're not going to stay out of it. 100% sure. I don't even know who you're talking about, yet I can say that for sure!
It's just how friends are, you know? If one of your friends was dating someone you thought was really rude, wouldn't you want to make sure that person wasn't acting that way to your friend as well?
They're mad that this person wants to spend time with me instead of with them I think. Part of it is that I have been a big jerk but part of it is just jealousy.
I am a jerk, and they are really jealous. They have to be the best at everything and they decided that they know best about what this person needs. Even if I'm just minding my own business they'll come up and start picking a fight.
Well, you can't really do anything about them being jealous, but you can do something about the jerk part. Just start bettering yourself first, and then the other problem might slowly resolve itself too! If you show you can be fully nice, I doubt the person you like would just let the whole jealous friends deal still happen.
Yeah! Don't they say that when you want to make the world better, you have to start with yourself? I think it works the other way around too.. If someone starts to try and act better, the other people around them might follow suit!

I don't care if their friends don't like me. I just want them to stay out of it, you know? There's protective and then there's too protective.

Not necessarily saying you're a jerk, I'm just playing the mill's advocate!
