I have neglected to announce my presence in this manner and I am perhaps overdue. I am Ciel Phantomhive and I have discovered that I am filling in for the Grecian goddess Asteria. (An ironic choice for reasons he will never tell.) She is the Titan goddess of falling stars and nighttime divinations (such as oneiromancy (by dreams) and astrology (by stars)). She is also the mother of Hekate, goddess of witchcraft.

(He is sitting at a desk, glancing at an open book briefly with his uncovered eye.)

Are there any others who hail from the year 1889?

(She isn't the only one haunted by Aunt Angelina. Try as he might, Ciel cannot separate the image of the Aunt he so loved from Madam Red, the murderess. Yet he knows she was broken and regretful at the end. Grell's disposal of her had been cruel.)

(The light in his visible eye sharpens.)

I didn't realize we've been supposed to use this as a way to introduce ourselves.

Supposed to is a strong statement. I introduced myself because it is polite to do so as a god and leader.

(He smiles thinly, sipping on a cup of tea.)

I've heard us being gods, 'leaders' not so much. But I guess that fits well from a follower point of view.

I go by Caster around here. No idea if you'll find someone from that specific year but I can at least confirm there are few of us from different times here.

I did study. (He motions at a large tome before him.) Besides, I know my Grecian mythology. The Titans are said to be even older than the traditional Grecian gods and goddesses.

There might be a few possibilities, but with missing memories it is difficult to be sure.

I couldn't say for sure what time I am from, due to the limits as a shinki, but my understanding and knowledge certainly matched closer to that period of time. Are you in need of assistance to adjusting to the new era?

He most likely wouldn't mind me assisting someone adjust to the current times. You're free to speak to Mister Spears, as he's listed as Ma'at on your phone, but it might be a while for him to respond. He's been going through quite an extended rest, you see.

[Hijikata is sitting in a small pavilion in a lavish, Japanese-style garden, a large tea cup cradled carefully in one even larger hand. He nods respectfully in greeting, though he doesn't go so far that you could really call it a bow.]

1869, myself. And from a different part of the world than you're accustomed to, I'd imagine.

Japan? (He takes note of the decorative touches - as well as the tea. Wow, he could really go for some good tea.) I have not visited your country, but the previous butler of my house is of Japanese descent.

[Hijikata nods again, the motion mussing his hair slightly. He looks briefly irritated with it -- he cut it short not long before he died, and has been growing it out lately, so it's at a bit of an awkward length for the time being.]

You'll have the chance to see plenty of it now, presumably. But yes, I lived there all my life.

[He sets down the cup -- even for him it's a bit rude to introduce himself while he's focused on something else -- and manages something a little more like a proper introductory bow.]

Toshizou Hijikata. I served at the will of Japan's last shogun, and serve the Heavens now as the current incarnation of Hachiman.

Since I'm a shinki, I don't actually know which year I came here from, but I imagine that it was around the same one as Hachiman, since apparently I knew him in life.

[1868, actually, since he died in tuberculosis a year before Hijikata kicked it.]

I don't know much divination, but it sounds rather interesting. Does that mean you can tell the future now?
