I have neglected to announce my presence in this manner and I am perhaps overdue. I am Ciel Phantomhive and I have discovered that I am filling in for the Grecian goddess Asteria. (An ironic choice for reasons he will never tell.) She is the Titan goddess of falling stars and nighttime divinations (such as oneiromancy (by dreams) and astrology (by stars)). She is also the mother of Hekate, goddess of witchcraft.

(He is sitting at a desk, glancing at an open book briefly with his uncovered eye.)

Are there any others who hail from the year 1889?

I can see they no longer rely on books or other physical publications. (More's the shame. He could move through a book quicker and easier.)

I am accustomed to darker hues - blue is a favorite of mine - and suits. I will not be taken seriously if I wear overly bright colors or silly designs.

No longer rely, but they haven't removed either from their options. It's simply another outlet.

Suits have also evolved over time, and it's not difficult to find them in royal colors, though black is still considered a classic. As your guide, I'm sure you're well equipped to find something that meets your tastes.

I suppose. (He doesn't like wasting time on mundane tasks. His mind tends to wander overmuch and then there are memories he would rather forget.) Do the colors change with the seasons?

There are trends, yes. Just as there are also 'classic' styles and color schemes. If you decide to stick with suits, then you'll find that you won't have to vary too much for the seasons.

Oh very well. I shall look into it and have different styles made.

There must be a tailor amongst the gods.

[ They're perfectly manicured and look normal. Demons that have any skill and age know how to blend in among humans completely. Which is why her eyes are blue, instead of some unusual color of 'brown.' ]

There surely may be. You'll just need to properly request their help.

[ Her clothes have been personally tailored to fit perfectly, for example. ]

(Why must demons be so sneaky? Ciel actually approves.)

It seems odd that a god should have to ask for anything, doesn't it? I must say, my impression of how things function has been rattled by this experience.

When everyone is a god, or already bound to serve with one, then the dichotomy one may have expected or grown up with is taken away. The only thing that sets one from the other is their personal growth in this assignment.

[ Meaning you're all commoners here, and it's only the Old Gods, such as Amaterasu and Fuujin, who could be given the idea of nobles. ]

You make a fair point. Then again, if you look at it in that light, haven't all the gods always existed? Were they restricted like this? It's a wonder humanity hasn't devoured itself.

(They are aspirations for him, perhaps.)

Once you've established yourself further, you could always ask them yourself. There are a few who are not stand-ins.

Amaterasu, Fuujin and Bishamonten are a few of the 'active' gods. At least the first two are; Bishamonten has offered her temple for the purposes of training, but has been out on business it seems.

(He is making notes as she speaks, nodding.) Thank you. Amaterasu I may have seen and I have heard of Bishamonten, but not Fuujin.

You're unlikely to hear or see much of him. He's not fond of the 'new guard,' if that's what we could be considered. Even us shinki are not standard compared to what they're accustomed to.

Old fashioned, is he? That might not be such a bad quality. (If Fuujin wants them gone, well, that fits with Ciel's wishes too.)

That's certainly one of the words that are used for him, yes. From what I've learned.

I think he and I might be able to see eye to eye. If not, I shall simply have to become more of a pest to him, I fear.
