From: Ciel Phantomhive (Asteria)
Date: September 7th

I have neglected to announce my presence in this manner and I am perhaps overdue. I am Ciel Phantomhive and I have discovered that I am filling in for the Grecian goddess Asteria. (An ironic choice for reasons he will never tell.) She is the Titan goddess of falling stars and nighttime divinations (such as oneiromancy (by dreams) and astrology (by stars)). She is also the mother of Hekate, goddess of witchcraft.

(He is sitting at a desk, glancing at an open book briefly with his uncovered eye.)

Are there any others who hail from the year 1889?

Betrayal. [ Those were simpler times, really ] Oaths were sacred, so was hospitality. If you killed someone in a drunken brawl, eh you could pay that up, make sure to take care of his kids if he had any and so on.

[ Accidents happen. Sometimes those are not accidents, and maybe you just hated each other and decided to deal with it like good adults - prove yourself in a duel. Endless possibilities there ]

But if you broke your promise, or attacked someone under a friendly roof, you were as good as worthless.

Wow, you sure told me, boy! [ Caster is well aware he's a product of his times, so he just this laughs it off. ]

But that's the thing, people are gone too quickly, so it's better to enjoy time with them to your fullest while they're still here. [ Grieve when they're gone, never forget them, but what else is there? If he hated every war, every order that took them away, he'd go insane. ]

Eh, I was younger than you when I first picked up arms. [ He probably didn't take human life at the same age as Ciel though, but he can't know that. Still, kids who lost someone, kids who've seen how cruel world is, he knew a lot of kids like that. Today they would be called children that had to mature too quickly ]

You asked the question, I've answered it. If it was too straightforward than it's because you don't seem like a naive and sheltered kid that couldn't handle it. But if I scared ya, that wasn't my intention, sorry. [ Genuine apology, no patronizing intended. ]

[ Oh boy, this kid just plainly speaks about eliminating enemies, right after pulling the "innocent kid" card. ]

So, a tactician. King Conchobar used to say we needed more of those. [ But instead he got stuck with a rowdy bunch of Red Branch Knights. ]

You've got enemies already at this age?

The name must be important if it attracts that much attention. [ As if names aren't always important. But some do carry more weight around than the others. ]

You might find your life here more peaceful. [ Keyword: might ]

Depends on what you consider as “quiet”. We’re outsiders here, but I haven’t yet seen much of strife between us. [ Again, the “yet” is the keyword again - he hasn’t been here for long ]

If you enjoy a hunt, that’s how can you treat the ayakashi, and the prayers are… well, probably depends on who decides to call your name.
