Um hello, far shore, is it? [He rubs the back of his neck nervously.] I'm new. I'm afraid most of what they told me didn't make a lot of sense, but I'll catch on. I was told that meeting others would help me orient myself.

[After a bit there's a video feed, a younger man sitting there - his eyes red and puffy but that same bright green as Eric's. His hands are clasped in front of him, gripping tightly at each other; his knuckles white.]

There was a training and orientation for all new Shinki and their assigned Gods.

[His tone has been stiff and formal but it's clear these words are rehearsed. Though his expression softens and his eyes tear up.]

Have you found your god yet? If you need my Shinki and I can assist you in your training. Perhaps seeing how Castiel and I work together you and your God can learn to work together as a team.

[Eric can't explain his reaction to the young man on the screen. There's a thrill of delight as if he's found someone that he's been desperate to see, someone he recognizes and loves. There's also a stab of pain and grief and shame. But, he can't explain any of it. After the momentary flash of emotions, he regains his equilibrium. It must be being because everything is new. Still, meeting the young man's eyes is hard.]

No I... I haven't done anything yet. I wanted to look around first.

I'm Eric. What's your name?

[He's watching Eric thought when Eric looks back at him it's Alan that's looking away. He doesn't know how to feel right now. There's a wave of happiness, bitterness and a million other rushing turbulent thoughts swarming in his head. He can't meet Eric's eyes for long. Instead his eyes drift closed.]

You'll need to find your God to be able to get your name and learn how to fight the creatures of this place.

[A ghost of a smile tugs at his lips and this time he does meet Eric's eyes.]

Alan Humphries. It's - It's a pleasure to meet you.

[Again he adds silently.]

But I have my name, it's Eric. I can't say a fight doesn't have its appeal. Something exciting. [He meets Alan's eyes and he feels like his knees will buckle.]

I'm taking it slow. Think I'll get assigned soon? How long have you been here?

[ What you get is -- something falling. Then a clatter accompanying a moment of black and a quick 'blast!' before there's visibility again amidst a shaking camera held by shaky hands. ]

[He chuckles and knits his brow. This person doesn't make him so uncomfortable. That's something. But why does the other young man?]

[ Oh shit. Now that's something he didn't consider. After all, the rest of Dispatch showed up okay... he hadn't counted on one of them being actual-dead. ]

About six months now, and yes, I've learned my way around. It's nothing compared to the real gods, of course, but it's something.

How have you been settling in so far? Have you had the chance to meet your god?

Yeah, I did. He seems ok. I haven't even gotten to settling in yet.

It is pretty confusing when you just've just gotten here, huh? No memories and lots of questions.

[It doesn't take much for him to figure out that some of the people Eric has been talking to are from the same place, no, now that Souji is more aware of that this can happen. But he'll stay very clear of any such suggestions, because that is still a thing you Should Not Talk About.]

But since you've found your god, it'll get easier for you to settle in from now on. and really, it's quite a nice place to call your home!

You're not really supposed to. That is to say, it is dangerous for a shinki to remember who they used to be. [He hesitates, then adds:] But you might get some memories back in time, and that's okay. Just don't try to remember more than that, or- or something bad could happen.

[ William has been out of commission for a few weeks now. And he may not have even seen Eric's video if Grell hadn't mentioned their old colleague had arrived while he was in his deep slumber. So, he's rather fashionably late in responding to the post. ]

Should I assume you have oriented yourself, by this point?
