Good afternoon, everyone. Please excuse my change of name: this is Cho Hakkai.

I appear to have reappeared. Although I don't want to give undue hope to anyone who's recently lost a god or shinki, I'd like to announce that my classes will be continuing as usual.

To those who were living upstairs at the school the past few days, I expect you to help me clean up the mess. You know who you are.

[There are animal cracker crumbs everywhere.

And apart from that he's just not going to mention the events of last few days. At least he wasn't an actual child, but....]

Does anyone have an idea what might have caused it? I'm certain I felt something in the air for a few hours before it happened.

There is a long pause from Yukine, as what Goten had said to him about growing up runs through his mind again. … He kind of – no, he really wishes he could grow up for real. But he’s dead, so he probably won’t, will he.]

It was fine. I just like being taller, is all.

[He’s glad this is just over text. It’s not too unusual for there to be a long pause in a text conversation, right? (Except for the fact that Yukine usually replies to texts promptly.)

[There could be a thousand explanations for the pause, but with the response, Hakkai has to wonder.

Being taller... being older isn't something Yukine will have the chance for. No matter what may be going on with the newcomers, he's a real shinki: a boy who's really dead at the cusp of his teenage years, and whose immortality leaves him at that moment forever.

Of course. And at least neither of us ended up five years old! Even for a day. I'm amazed no one managed to fall in a lake or be eaten by someone's sacred animals as it is.

Has something like this ever happened in the Heavens before?

When you put it like that-

I’m not sure. You’d have to ask a god or shinki who has been here longer. But I’m betting ‘no’. [Talking about something like ‘this’, which is not quite like what happens to a god when they reincarnate, after all.]

I'd bet "no," too. It's strange... especially since gods should only grow younger like that if they've been killed. Isn't that right?

[It's strange how they'd managed to render normally adult gods temporarily younger.

It's almost as if someone could use that to -- for instance -- pretend that a god who's too powerful to be killed has been killed, and weaken them at the same time.

In the particular case that Hakkai's wondering about, the pronoun is: weaken her.]

It's not something that hasn't been said publicly on the network before.

Why would I not be okay with saying it in an open thread?

No, I know what you mean. It's not something that's pleasant to discuss, but considering the ongoing situation, it's hard to avoid.

[Hakkai-san, pls. It’s not a joking matter…]

I just don’t like it.
I get this bad feeling about Loki or the guy calling me out on the BBS reading that and getting some stupid idea in their heads.

But I guess I can’t stop everyone from saying whatever on the BBS though.

Depending on the person, it may discourage anything foolish to know that older gods return, whether it's as children or not.

Not all of the newer gods seem to, after all.

I really hope you're right.

And new gods are weird. Of course they don't come back like normal.

Same with shinki.

It's weird. But it's nice you're back, Hakkai-san.

I hope I'm right, too. The last thing we need is more trouble between the new and old gods and shinki.
