Good afternoon, everyone. Please excuse my change of name: this is Cho Hakkai.

I appear to have reappeared. Although I don't want to give undue hope to anyone who's recently lost a god or shinki, I'd like to announce that my classes will be continuing as usual.

To those who were living upstairs at the school the past few days, I expect you to help me clean up the mess. You know who you are.

[There are animal cracker crumbs everywhere.

And apart from that he's just not going to mention the events of last few days. At least he wasn't an actual child, but....]

Does anyone have an idea what might have caused it? I'm certain I felt something in the air for a few hours before it happened.

I'm doing well, thank you. The things that happened the last few days weren't all bad.

I'm a little surprised that you remember all of us, honestly? The only time I knew about this happening, my friend didn't remember his time as a shinki. So Sora tells me.

[Hakkai wonders how the older god feels about being reminded of his childhood, and his own other name. It's not necessarily a happy memory, even if he'd seemed to be a fairly mild-mannered, compliant child.

Hakkai supposes he'd seemed happy as a younger man, too. But memories...]

Were you affected? I know some of the older gods and shinki were....

I was. The second day of it. I got older, and my memory was fine. But with the whole memory mess-up thing for others, I didn't go around to see people this time.

Do you remember what all happened to you during that? [Aka do you remember that awkward stuff about your eye? 'Cause seriously, he's sorry, ok?]

Yes, I do.

[Eye stuff... really, compared to everything else, it doesn't even register. His eye may be one of the more visible changes, but it's one of the ones that bothers him least, in the end.]

Hello, Goku! I got smaller for a few days myself. You met me when I'd just come back from disappearing, but unfortunately, I didn't have the time to tell everyone about it before all of that.

How are you feeling? Are you settling in well?

From what I hear, Tanabata was fairly quiet, although I stayed in that day.

quiet but a festival is busy as it is isnt it? i heard there were 2 more bodies found not too long after everything was cleaned up

No. I think the most that I saw in a god was approximately forty or fifty years older.

It seems that Fuujin's shinki, Kaede, is recruiting library workers. That might be a good excuse to stop by and examine the library.

I'll do the same myself. I don't have much experience with magic, but I can sense spiritual energy.

I haven't heard of anyone who this has happened to who has remembered. I was only gone for a few days, though. Perhaps that has something to do with it?

["Not having had enough time to forget"... he's not sure if that's related or not. His memories of the Heavens feel strangely out of place in his mind, half clear and half faded as though he'd been here much longer ago than his calendar and the others' memories indicate.]

[Murder is one thing -- and those murders, from what he's heard so far, have been rather individual and selective.

They're not widespread ayakashi releases, or shambling corpses. Which makes him consider the festival a quiet time by comparison.]

If you are still the same as when you were a shinki, I am sure that your shinki are in good hands. You were a good shinki and I have faith in you being a good god.

the ones that were found the day of the festival were at a park. more were found a few days later at another park

Have you and Lady Bishamon been well? I hope you weren't affected by the recent events?

With all things considered Lady Bishamon and I are doing very well. We were both affected by the sudden change in age, both of us became younger, but luckily it was just temporary. It was more of a handful to tend to a lion cub then a younger Viina.

I have to say, it doesn't sound like the sort of thing that's usually associated with arrivals. Unless they were ritually sacrificed?

[Geh. But if Hakkai-san isn’t going to mention it, he won’t either.

There is a long pause from Yukine, as what Goten had said to him about growing up runs through his mind again. … He kind of – no, he really wishes he could grow up for real. But he’s dead, so he probably won’t, will he.]

[He’s glad this is just over text. It’s not too unusual for there to be a long pause in a text conversation, right? (Except for the fact that Yukine usually replies to texts promptly.)

[ Hmm...it's actually hard to picture Hakkai as smaller. Even though Goku's only met him once, he just had that impression of being very grown-up somehow. ]

I'm good! I forgot stuff when I was small, but then I remembered again when I woke up today. I'm glad I remembered.

[Even several years later, Hakkai is by no means over it. He's glad to let the subject slide by in favor of a less sensitive one.]

I certainly am a terrible singer. May I ask what you are, if not human? Are you a youkai?

[She doesn't look it, and her singing isn't anything like what he's heard, but he hasn't come near to seeing all the youkai that there are, either. He could just not know her tribe.]
