Why is the Internet like this?
I am highly disappointed in it.
Surely there is more to it than this.

Everyone can be much better than this.
Much, much better.
Honestly.

And whoever told my god about these cellphones, I would like a word.

There's a great deal of information on the Internet, at least. Can't say the culture of it makes a damn bit of sense to me, but it's useful if you learn the right places to look.

Ignore the emoji. Complaining just makes it worse.

Information is one thing, but lack of a professional air is another. This is a means to gift knowledge across the span of countries and oceans -- and it's being used to send cat images with text over to one another.

I am offended on behalf of the people who created this base of information.

Oh, I agree. And I'm not going to pretend to understand the cat images and the videos of baby animals and what have you.

But the noise is easily enough ignored, and there doesn't seem to be much advantage in arguing about it, as long as it isn't impeding the flow of actual useful communications.

The results are the same as at any open mic.
