[ The video opens to Nanako sprawled on her stomach, kicking her feet in the air behind her but her expression is one of serious thought. Although she looks a little shy and uncertain about leaving a message like this, she also looks pretty determined, too. This... hadn't been something she was sure about asking her big brother, so instead she tries here. Maybe that will be easier? Or people will be less quick to guess why she might be asking... ]

Sooo.... this is heaven, right? And where people go after they die?

If someone died a while ago, can you find them here somewhere?

[ He'll hesitate, but only out of not wanting to cause her undo grief. An Exorcist, after all...

[ There's a smile, if faint, that's sober and steadied both. ]

My father, who I haven't seen in a very long time.

[ Eight years since was forced to slay the monstrosity he became, if Allen is being honest. ]

Though I don't expect to see him here.

We'll try that! You take care of the snacks and I'll take care of the flying. It'll be fun.

[Her excitement is infectious!]

Okay! When should we go looking?

[ An expression of sorrow crosses her face at that, evident even through the small video screen. ]

I'm sorry. [ A pause, before she confesses, ] I haven't seen my mom in a long time, either. That's why I thought... maybe...

You don't think they'd be here either? [ That's what everyone's been telling her so far, anyway. ]

Heaven is really big. [ She already knows that, from exploring different temples. ] But I don't know where to start looking.

[ Honestly? That thought had occurred to her as well, but Lux hardly wanted to dampen the young girl's spirits. She didn't have it in her. ]

Chisato Dojima. Hmm, all right. Give me just a moment! Let's see, something to write with...

[ Did they even have something like that around here? Her god was a bit... ~~cheap~~ tight with money and didn't seem to want to spend on anything unnecessary. But surely she should have something!

Come on, Nanako, let's go for a trip around her room. Which, admittedly, is a bit sparse right now, sadly. But she does manage to find something after a moment, and begins noting things down. ]

Is there anything else that you can tell me about her? If not, that's all right.

[ "I'm sorry"?

While he blinks for a moment at that, Allen, he... ]

I wouldn't want them to be. [ That smile of his—it's so infinitely gentle, but so very sad as well.

What speaks volumes of I'd give anything... but know I can't. ]

To me, to someone who exists like that...

I'd rather they were somewhere they could just rest at peace finally and not worry about me anymore either. [ Somewhere not here. ] As all souls should someday.

[ It doesn't mean he doesn't understand how she feels though, which is why he cocks his head to the side with a softer sort of smile. ]

But until I know and can see it for myself I'll want to believe that wherever they are they're where they can be happy.

[ For every soul he's destroyed to free. ]

Even if it's a really hard thing not to see them anymore.

Umm... [ Nanako stops and tries to think about all she knows. Which... isn't all that much, but she does her best. ]

My dad said she was a lot like me, but I remember her having longer hair than mine. She had a pretty laugh and she smelled like flowers and she wore pretty dresses. She liked picnics and reading stories and she could sing really pretty.

It is really hard. [ Her own tone is hushed and quiet, as if she'd confiding a very important secret. ] I want her to be happy, even though I miss her. My big brother told me once that even if she's in Heaven, that she's watching over me, and that it would make her happy when I was happy.

I just thought, since we were gods now and gods are supposed to live in Heaven, that maybe... maybe I could find her here somewhere.

Mm, Zeno thinks it might not be... that heaven.

I didn't know there was more than one Heaven. [ Nanako sounds disappointed about this. ] Everyone talks about it like there's only one.

People do that! It's because sometimes, words that mean big, broad things only get used for one little thing under that big, broad meaning.

"Heavens" sometimes also just means the sky itself, with all the clouds and stars and planets. Sometimes it means anything above the earth.

But more people care about the heaven where people go after they die, so that's the one that gets talked about the most.

But isn't that where gods are supposed to live, too?

Is it? Or did people use the same word to mean different things?

[His smile is sad. He'd promised several people to see them again in heaven, and so far, he's only been able to keep one of them-- but if she has no memory of that promise, does it still count...?]

What about tomorrow?

I don't know. Is that what you think they meant?

[ This is complicated to puzzle out when you're six.

But his smile looks sorta sad, so she hesitates a moment before gently asking. ]

Was there someone you wanted to see in Heaven, too, Mister?

[He's sorry, Nanako.

He really is.]

Maybe you'll get to see that person one day.

[If by some fate that person is brought to the Far Shore.]

That works! Do you want me to come meet you at Souji's again?

Probably not. I guess there's a chance...

[ What with the whole shinki supposedly being dead, but thinking on it, he's still unconvinced that Prompto is actually dead or that he let him die. His memories are still a little skewed regarding that. ]

Who are you looking for anyway? Maybe if I see him around, I'll point him in your direction.

[ It's the least he can do short of actually looking for the dead person in question. ]

[ "Happy when I was happy..."

Ah. Your brother seems very smart. But to that question, if this was supposed to be the place where all souls would go.. ]

Do you want this to be Heaven? [ It's gentle, not judgmental. ]

Zeno doesn't know, either. Zeno is just guessing, because that's what people have to do in the face of gods. Even if Zeno is a god now, that wasn't always so!

[Hard to break that habit of being confused and unable to understand the gods and their actions... though he's sure that isn't entirely their fault.

But to her question, he nods.]

More than someone. Some many.

[ Lux nods throughout all of this, taking notes. Circling a few things. Really it wasn't too much to go on, but she does her best to keep an encouraging smile on her face.

Her pen taps on the page for a moment in thought. This was going to be like finding a needle in a haystack, especially if the woman didn't remember her daughter. Which was...

She pauses. ]

What is your father like, if you don't mind my asking? Do you have any other family? Any brothers and sisters?

[ Her smile sobers a bit as she sets her pad and pen down. ]

I'm sorry, I don't mean to be personal, I'm just... I'm curious is all. I don't know what it's like to have a family.

[Sorry, child.]

It is alright to be curious. No one will be angry at you for asking a question.
