I have a question for the shinki among us.

How important to you is your connection to your god?

If you could go without a name, and not worry about your safety or a place to stay, would you prefer to?

Yes... I think I have.

The only ones who object to having a god are those who object to the idea of having anyone hold power over them, it seems.

And, of course, no one wants a god who would treat them badly.

Have many people here had gods that do so?

A few. Both of the gods I personally witnessed mistreating shinki have left, but there's at least one here who I have heard has named shinki against their will.

Do people in the Far Shore do anything against that?

I have.

Heaven's laws don't seem to have anything to say about how a shinki should be treated, though. Not that I've heard, at least.

They don’t seem very prepared for any of this.

The older gods here have had shinki of their own for a long, long time.

I suspect the truth of the matter is that it's always been up to each god to handle on their own. If they treat us too badly, our negative feelings may hurt them in turn, after all.

Clearly it doesn't seem to be working well even with that...

That's why it's important to hold it against your god if you're treated badly. Forgiveness only lets them get away with bad behavior.

If mine did so, I'm sure he would have reason for it.

That's exactly the kind of answer that lets a god mistreat you, you know.

Maybe but if it's Axel-sama, then it's not anyone else's business.

What I'd like to say is, "For the sake of any of his future shinki, it's your job to make sure he knows what he should and shouldn't do!"

Do what you like, though. None of us are likely to be here long enough for it to matter.

We're not real shinki, and our gods mostly aren't real gods. I don't know who's responsible yet, but just as we appear without explanation, we disappear, too.

So it isn't likely to matter what you teach your god.

Do you think that what happened at the festival could be a trail?

The soul of my first goddess was trapped in one of the bodies there... so yes.

I do.

Before it all happened, someone besides me was able to tell that souls were trapped inside of the corpses. I'm not sure how useful that would be in the aftermath however.
