[ The video turns on showing nothing but stark pink. It takes a few moments for the camera to zoom out to an armoured soldier, pretty in pink.  ]

---use this ancient technology. Wait. Is it working?

[ The camera shakes a little as Donut adjusts the device. In the background, a loud whistle can be heard as the video captures a bird-like ayakashi striking at an invisible wall behind him - his energy shield - while Donut safely makes the call from inside. ]

Hey guys.  [His visor shifts behind him taking a look at his little pest before turning back to the camera. ] I would really appreciate it if someone came and killed this thing. I think I made it angry and I kind of lost my shin-- [ Light suddenly explodes as the ayakashi unleashes an attack that gets absorbed by the shield dispersing it across the dome in a shower of light.  ]

Hey! I'm on a call here. Don't be rude!  [ The pink helmet turns back to the camera. ] Like I was saying, I could really use some help.

[ And with that the recording ends along with the light-show.  ]



[OOC: For anyone willing to help.... he's kind of lost so don't expect good or for that matter any kind of directions >_> ]

[Roxas nods, pulling the gloves on. At this moment he's happy to have lived in Koriko and forced to be without a Keyblade for a few months. Fang sure knew how to teach hand to hand combat.]

I know you can.

[It's always awkward to talk to a shinki when no one could hear them... Okay so maybe that armor was a little cool. He waits, ready to charge and is more impressed with the grenades now... So cool.]

I'm glad you're on my side.

[And he's off, running at ayakashi. Let's see if he can get a few hits in before the creature recovers.]

[Kairi's just bracing for that contact with the ayakashi, focusing her attention on the physical portions just beyond the reach of her gloves' form where she can try to protect Roxas's hands from the slight blight of punching an ayakashi directly.]

'Thanks, Roxas.'

[She'll have to apologize later for not really being able to talk to Donut himself, but she figures it's most important to focus on the ayakashi. The explosion is really impressive though!]

And that's how it's done!

In your face Bird-thing! In your face!

[ And he's hurrying over to check on the damage his shield only a few feet wide this time. ]

[Roxas jumps back, not sure if the creature was dead or if he has to hit it more.]

I'm gonna have to rend it.

[It's been a while, soooo... Gotta make sure he does it right.]

Just hit it with more holy water if it tries to get up!

[Roxas probably feels how thoroughly proud and excited Kairi is right now. She's never been in combat here as a shinki but 'Rend' feels familiar, like she knows instinctively how to cut through an ayakashi like this, how to replace a force of darkness with an infusion of light.]

'I hope it doesn't get back up.'

[She mentally shakes her head inside of her vessel form.]

'No, I won't let it get back up!'

[To protect Donut and Roxas both.]

[ Donut watched from inside his energy shield, safe as a button, as the god and his shinki attacked the creature head on. Rend, he had said. Donut didn't really know much about all that. He and Hakari had only been up against an ayakashi once and even then he'd been lucky to get out of it unscathed considering he had no clue how to use his shinki back then. But watching the pair now, he realized just how out of sync he and his own shinki truly were. ]

[Good thing his shinki knows how to rend, because Roxas highly doubts Raichi and Senri do. It was embarrassing to say the incantation out loud, so he recites it mentally, hoping that was enough to charge Kairi's vessel form with the spell. For a moment he forgets the shape his fingers have to make, quickly runs them over his gloves when it comes back, and stands ready to hit the ayakashi.]

You feel anything, Kairi?

[Whether she says yes or no, Roxas will just go for a few more strikes while it's down.]

[pure_radiantics]

[Yes, she definitely feels something... like, stronger? More confident? Like she can absolutely go embrace this darkness with this power.]

'Yes... this is your power, Roxas? It's so warm.'

[That's the only good way she can describe it.]

'Let's go!'

[glazedonutholes]

[ Inside the energy dome, Donut is cheering on the couple. ]

Oh, you are going down! You hear that bird-man, you are so going down!

[ He may be a little too cheerful when the god and the shinki are out there risking their lives.... which reminds him. He still has his grenades! He quickly grabs one from his armor and pulls out the pin before pulling back his arm and there goes another grenade. Frag this time. Instead of a concentrated dose, holy water sprays in all directions on impact covering ayakashi completely, enough to make it stumble. ]

Oh, yeah! [ He throws up his hand in celebration. ] Double-O-Donut always gets his man!

[Next time you throw a grenade, make sure Roxas is far enough where he won't get some of the water on him. It's not fun to suddenly be wet! He shakes it off and hits the ayakashi in the face while it's down. Rending it isn't so hard now that he's actually got the power activated, but Roxas still stumbles after the task is actually done.

Ugh... he'll have to practice hand to hand combat again...]

I-I guess we did it?

[An ayakashi that size might just reform somewhere else later... for now it's not their problem. Right?]

[The funny thing about getting drenched in holy water is that it makes Kairi's Rend attack a little bit more effective than it would have been normally. She feels like her whole body is getting slammed into the ayakashi, but when it almost feels like too much her power activates, keeping the holy water effective at forming a light shield as she slams into the ayakashi with Roxas's fists backing the Rend spell.]

'Mmm...'

[She's winded too, clutching her chest where there isn't bruising or anything, but definitely an intense sort of feeling leftover. It's her first time in that sort of hand-to-hand combat too, she's pretty sure.]

'Think... so...'

[glazedonutholes]

[ And here comes Donut bounding down to scoop the little guy off his feet to twirl him around shinki and all. ]

You did it!

[missingache]

[Roxas yelps, clinging for dear life. PLEASE PUT HIM DOWN!!!]

Y-Yeah!

[pure_radiantics]

[Kairi's been spun around before, but never in vessel form, so she's starting to get a bit queasy from the new sensation.]

'Uh, Roxas...? Can I...? Please.'

[He might be able to tell from her voice that she's not at 100%]

JUMPING AHEAD to save the Kairi

[missingache]

[Oh no oh no oh no Can gloves get sick? No waiting to find out!]

Sorry, Kairi!

[At least only one of them will be feeling awkward in the arms of an armored man.]

[ Donut, obviously can't hear her so he keeps spinning! ]

[pure_radiantics]

[A bit of white light later, Roxas has no gloves and Kairi is standing next to Roxas - and then she's still a bit woozy and bobbles a bit, eventually getting both legs splayed a bit and arms out to find her balance.]

Oh wow...

[Deep breaths.]

[missingache]

[Meanwhile Roxas has just gone limp like a ragdoll cat, waiting for Donut to put him down. What even is happening still, why is Donut so happy???? It was just an ayakashi that needed slaying.]

[glazedonutholes]

[ The bright light catches his attention and Donut sets Roxas down in favor of crowding the young shinki. ]

Oh! So you're a shinki. Where did you get that awesome necklace? The sparkle really catches your eye!

[pure_radiantics]

[Her stomach is finally settling down when Donut gets in her face.]

I... don't know where I got it... because I'm a shinki.

[She reaches over to hold Roxas by the shoulders. It'll help steady her as much as him.]

Are you okay?

[missingache]

[Roxas appreciates the help. His stomach is reeling from all that.]

No... I'm so glad I didn't eat anything...

[Else he'd have been sick by now..]

Well, thanks you guys. You totally helped me out there. I had no idea what to do when that bird attacked me. There I was minding my own business, skipping along the road singing the best rendition of "Intoxicated" when it just swooped down and tried to take an arm off. I know I look hideous in this light red armor and all but you don't have to go rip off a guys arm for that! I mean, it's not like was singing in the rain - which I totally do whenever there's a good down pour going on - but even so that's a little over the top. And to make things worse, they were super rude! Kept interrupting all of my calls with its constant screeching and head-on collisions with my shield. Like, I know you've got this whole super deadly ayakashi look going on for you but save it for the actual battle. God, some birds are all squawk and little substance.

[ Kairi has known babblers but she's kind of thinking that maybe she just met the God of Babbling.

There's several points at which she thinks he may be done talking and starts to speak again, since most of her wooziness was due to the proximity of the ayakashi, even if she doesn't realize it. She hasn't built up a tolerance for it yet.

So if there's a couple of Uhm's, Uh's, Well's, and Okay's sprinkled into Donut's speech, it's probably Kairi. ]
