1. Has anyone heard a prayer asking for someone else's death?
2. Has anyone considered answering such a prayer?

2. Yes. If it's a prayer that came to me, it was for a reason.

[He actually does suspect that Youji means something else entirely, like 'would you actually kill the person' but he doesn't want to seem too blood-thirsty on anon.]

Yes, how did that question even occur to me.
[...no seriously, how do you miss that?]
Has anyone asked about this before, I wonder.

It's probably come up before. Wishing that someone was out of your life is one of the top things people turning to gods look for help with, so I hear. Some people just aren't picky how that happens.

It was always my understanding that not every prayer is answered, or answered how you expect.

I think it's a trickle down sort of thing from one god to the next.

If the God of Weather won't answer your prayer for a bountiful harvest, maybe the God of Farming will.
Or maybe if you ask nice enough, the God of Insects & Pests will pass you over.
That sort of thing.

"Why'd you get involved, I was getting to that!"
"I specifically wanted that mortal to suffer, what the hell."
and so forth

Luckily that requires you know which god took care of the problem for you and most don't leave calling cards that I'm aware of.
