Well, I ask because it's not obvious from your name, but as for why it matters... haven't you found that shinki have a somewhat different perspective on matters around here?

As shinki, we're meant to be our gods' moral compasses. That means, if we do something or are forced to do something that we feel guilty for -- that we feel is wrong -- we and our gods will both be affected with blight. It's painless for shinki, although you'll be able to see a mark, usually on your neck or back.

[Not that he's had plenty of opportunity to see where blight marks appear on a shinki's body, so far. Certainly not.]

For gods, it causes pain, which is why it's known as "stinging" your god.

Well if it's on my back, I'm sure as shit not gonna see it, am I?

Of course. But it's something you can say to your god, if she is that concerned about using you against your will. Should she try to do so, she'll know.

It's not much of a safety measure for us, but I can live with being a learning experience.
