I know everybirdie is really busy and there's been a lot going an lately but I've been thinking a lot about what happened at the party.

[Hiyoko is well aware that a lot of other stuff happened right after and there were plenty of gods and shinki still dealing with the fallout from that. That's why she gave it a few days. But now it's time to see if anybirdie else is thinking along the same lines as her.]

That fire was obviously set by people who aren't happy with Amaterasu. I'm not sure if it's her they don't like, or if she's put some unpopular policies in place, but we can't really ignore an attack like this. Has this group tired anything like this before? Have they made any other demands?

[Because 'down with Amaterasu' is one thing, but 'down with the heavens?' What are they supposed to do? Start hurling their temples at the near shore? That demand is way too vague.]

I also heard about an incident with poisoned chocolates. That was before I got here but the whole thing sounded pretty fishy. Does anybirdie else think that might have been an attempt to discredit Amaterasu? And if there any other incidents like that, I wouldn't mind hearing about them.

That means things will be relatively quiet with the next batch of new arrivals.

But I definitely think we need a third option.
I just don't know what that third option should be.

I wish we knew more. Like why people are getting pulled here and assigned to gods.
Maybe the group has something to do with it. We don't know what happened to the gods we're replacing.
It's also weird that there are so many foreign gods in the heavens of Japan.

I sure hope you're right.
But I still feel like we're a step behind.
And there's a ton of questions that we don't have answers for.

Take a look at this. It's an official statement made by Amaterasu after an incident where contaminated chocolate was passed out on her orders.

We just have to do whatever we can in the meantime. Like gathering and organizing what we already know.

And keep an eye out for anything suspicious.

I don't know for sure, but the moment we appeared, the former god's presence disappeared everywhere. It was gone from all of Tajimamori's old shrines on the Near Shore, and his worshipers forgot they'd ever visited. I've been trying to help out, but it's still not back to where it was.

All I can figure is that we're being brought in to stop the old gods from reincarnating like normal. Maybe they can't destroy all of the belief that humans have that easily.

[ yeah, the name sounds dumb, but clearly someone approved it. maybe he can learn a thing or two about convincing people to accept his own hero name suggestions. ]

By the way, a while ago a guy named Sephiroth was also asking around. The way he talks is really high-handed, but it sounds like he's level-headed and confident. You could try comparing notes with him.

I've experienced bad enough that it's hard for anything else to sound that bad. Us having plans in formation at all is at least something.

You're right about that, at least. There's still far too much here we don't have answers for...and too much the old gods don't seem to, either.
