[Yuuki had been doing so well.

When she wakes up on the morning of the thirteenth, there's something different. Hajime will feel it as a sense of confusion and unease, though it has yet to progress to outright stinging. It's... strange. She remembers lush greens and a blue sky that seems to stretch forever, circling around a giant tree from which the world itself seems to spring. She remembers laughter, turning to the culprit and laughing herself in sheer bliss as she takes in the world. Between the six of them, they practically have a rainbow of wings... Siune, Jun, Tecchi, Talken, Nori. She knows their names, their races, the fact that they were her comrades. But...

That's it. Just a brief glimpse into what must have been her past. A beautiful world full of friendly faces that she can't quite reach out to grasp... One that she shouldn't.

And yet...]

Shinki definitely never ever remember things... Right?

[There's no easy way to put it. But she has to know--

Is it... Really okay for her to be regaining her memories...?]

[The mouthful of watermelon gives Hajime a chance to think for a second. The names don't really do anything for her. She doesn't know them. But the mention of friends, fairies---all of that. It brings back memories of when she experienced seeing just how Yuuki died. The finer details of who was who escaped her but the scene still stands pretty clear in her memory. Being surrounded by friends and so many people that cared for her. Yuuki was an important part of all those peoples lives! Especially the closer group that had surrounded her and whoever's arms she was in when she passed...

Is it bad for a shinki to remember? Hajime doesn't know. She's heard somethings but everyone has been so vague and avoided the topic like its toxic. If Yuuki is remembering stuff, then there has to be a reason. It's important. These are Yuuki's memories and keeping them away from her or trying to sway her from them is wrong.

Hajime swallows, her smile is a different. It's softer but clearly a happy one]

Yuuki...I think those were your friends. If you were all laughing together and there was a super warm feeling...there's no doubt! But how do you feel about it? What did you feel while experiencing it? That's super important to.

I was happy.

[She knows that for sure. No matter how hard she tries, she wears her heart on her sleeve. She was laughing with those people - they must have been good friends.]

The world was so big in front of us... It felt like we could do anything we wanted. My heart was pounding!

[But the faint smile she has fades rather quick, and she tips her head to look at Hajime properly.]

...Yukine said that memories might be contagious. Like... It's a bad thing for shinki to get.

[Which... Honestly had been her fear, and the reason why she kept dodging questions on the post.]

Hajime... Is it bad if I'm starting to remember...?

[And worse yet... That she wants to remember more?]

I have no idea!

[Honest. She's very honest but it's still said with a smile as she winks to Yuuki.]

If you remember something, that's for you! Bad or Good, its your memory to remember! It doesn't matter what anyone says about it. Yukine probably doesn't understand it! The unknown scares people, you know? But It's imporant for you. It's something that made you happy, right? Then move with that! I really don't think that something that made you smile can be bad. No matter what anyone says, what's important is what you feel!

[Hajime doesn't take her eyes of her shinki as she speaks, she means every word. It doesn't matter what the world or heaven says, what Yuuuki thinks is what is important to her. ]

Maybe....you'll remember more! Yuuki..doesn't it make you hungry for more? If you do remember more will you tell me? Please? Aaah!

[Her arms shoot up with energy as she tries to reach for the cieling]

It's so exciting! That world sounds amazingggg~. My heart is pounding just thinking about it~!

[Her eyes go wide at Hajime's blunt admission. Still, her posture relaxes as Hajime continues to speak, her hands resting on the table even as she continues to hold onto her uneaten watermelon slice.

The answer is just so... so Hajime. By the time she finishes, Yuuki can't help but smile.]

...If... If nothing bad happens... Yeah! I'll tell you all about it!

[A little warmth slips into her voice. She still feels a little uncertain, and Hajime can no doubt feel that, but overall her mood's improved greatly. She's calmer now, and that alone is enough to get her to take a small bite out of her watermelon before she speaks up again.]

I want to know more about those people. Even if I had to leave them behind... I'm sure the memories we made will be worth it.

Of course they're worth it! Even though I have all my memories and I think of what's going on back home...The memories I've made here are super important too! You, Rise-chan, Yuto, Hermes, Sheryl, Hood-kun, Susu-kun, Tsuzu-kun, Elsa-san..the list goes on! but all of you mean a lot to me. I would never want to forget you, it wouldn't be fair! The same goes for my friends and Gatchaman back home!

[She sets down the watermelon slice on the plate, tapping her fingers on the table's surface]

So keep going! Those people are your friends! You deserve to know more! I think those memories will help lots. Aaaauwah~! You're really strong, Yuuki! Super strong!

[Hajime kicks her feet eagerly under the table]

[Strong... Okay, that's one thing about Hajime she's not sure she'll ever get used to.]

But I was really scared just now! That's not really strong...

That doesn't change anything! Yuuki, even though you were really scared you still moved forward! It's fighting and pushing forward even though you're scared that really says something. You don't give yourself enough credit! I'm really happy we're friends! I'm lucky to be teamed up with you. It's been great!

[Hajime kicks her feet in excitement, she's smiling from ear to ear. Yuuki never ceases to impresses her. Even if she doesn't think so herself, Hajime can see it clear as day. Maybe..if she does remember more, Yuuki can get more confidence in herself.]

And I bet those people...those friends in your memory feel the same as I do!

[That gets her blushing, tipping her head forward a bit as she nibbles on her watermelon. Yup, Hajime’s going to be able to feel the embarrassment rolling off of her.]

I hope so… They seemed to really get along. We must’ve made a good team.

[Though at the mention of that, she’s reminded--]

Hey, Hajime… You didn’t get stung or anything either, right?

[Just making sure all her bases are covered.]

[It makes her cheek lighten up, but past that Hajime just smiles that much more. Yuuki is so cute!!]

Hmm? I don't think so! I know what sting feels like and I didn't feel it at all. I just noticed you were worried, that's it! See? Nothing bad---but even if it did sting me I would want you to keep going. Nothing should keep you from your memories, Yuuki.

But I don't want to sting you. Especially if it's because I'm learning things I shouldn't.

[Although how she's supposed to stop random memories from returning to her, she still hasn't the faintest.]

But... If it's really okay, then... For now, I'll try not to worry about it too much. [Since that, too, could cause stinging.]

Yuuki, you should do what you feel is best. You're not alone in this either! I'll always back you up no matter what! Don't let your worries about 'what if' stop you! No one would get anywhere. Just keep going and going and going in circles! I'll let you know if I start to get stung though, okay?

[She stands by that. If they never try, then they'll never know for sure right?]

[Her expression remains uncertain for a moment, but eventually she nods, her body relaxing slightly. Really, she shouldn’t be surprised at this point… She has a tendency to rush into things head first, but Hajime puts even that trait to shame with her go-getter attitude.

It’s an effort, but she summons up a faint, grateful smile.]

…Okay. Thanks, Hajime. I’m gonna keep doing my best!

[There’s a little less oomph to her voice, but it’s sincere nevertheless.]
