[Some days after the raid on the cultist compound and...]

[And with that, Chikusa links a video of Ken making a very impressive leap in quick reaction to a paintball! ...which he catches with his mouth. The video stays on him for a few seconds later, with all the coughing, spitting, and rolling that goes with it.]

[One of these days a pet shaming sign is going to be put on that dog.]

[But that's not all! Because while he's pet shaming...]

my cats are also dumb

[There's another link to a different video. This one is in broad daylight, focused on one o the streets which goes through the illustrious Central District. Staying steady, the camera focuses on... a giant catfish of frankly monstrous proportions, larger than some people. Surrounding it is an absolute small army of nekomata. Those that are directly in contact with the fish are doing their very best to drag the fish along with their teeth, jaws locked into the flesh of the beast. Others around them seem to be slowly following along, concentrating intently. While it might be difficult to see on video, the cats are using a combined telekinetic effort to make the drag a little easier. Every now and then, the fish suddenly jerks and thrashes wildly, sending the cats scattering all over. They always come back, however, determined not to abandon their catch.]

[When they finally come near enough to the front of Temple Lie Tieguai, Chikusa's voice finally speaks up from behind the camera.]

I'm not preparing all of this...

[A dozen tiny cat voices rise up in protest, and the video cuts off.]

he probably didnt think it throught. he goes on instinct more than anything else because he's practically an animal all day every day. i've thrown a ball for him and he's gone chasing after it even after yelling at me about it

"ken" really fits him as a name

[Chikusa didn't give him the name that literally means "dog".... but he's sure never going to let his dumb boyfriend live it down. Ken gets on him for other shit too, tho, so it's fine. Probably.]

[ It's an instinctual reply more than anything. Because Minako sure wouldn't want a half-dog half-boy boyfriend, but she can still totally see the cute side of it. Ken just running after a ball like that.. ]

So that's why he must have caught it with his mouth! It's still a kind of ball!

[Listen, Minako... Bliss is having a sort-of-cute dog boy cuddling up with you at night and whining when you won't give him food. Dammit Chikusa this is how you wound up with a fursona]

basically. half the time something comes at his face he catches it w his mouth but anything small & round make that almost all the time.

at least one seemed to be going slower

This is probably going to sound slightly dumb, but.. isn't there any way you could help him learn to resist his instincts? It could get seriously dangerous if something like this would happen with a bomb or something like that, after all.

[ Yes, she's literally trying to think of things that are vaguely round and dangerous, okay. ]

I know that I don't know him super well, but he's still your boyfriend, Chikusa!! So I don't want to see him hurt!

w/how japanese weapon laws are even for regular guns, i don't think he has to worry about catching a grenade but i guess it couldn't hurt. we don't know the full extent of where cult weirdos go to

yeah. we're bad at it alone anyway. maybe if i throw enough balls around, he'll get desensitized to the sight of them.

[ Despite not knowing Ken all that well, she can somehow feel it might just be the latter if he's instinctive enough to even bite into a ball of paint.. ]

Is there maybe some kind of food he doesn't really like? If you could make a ball out of that, he could learn that not all balls are great to grab like that in a very direct way! And, you know, a way that's also safe! [ Because feeding him more paint is really not recommended. ]

[It's both his greatest strength and something that gets him into stupid amounts of trouble. Frankly, it's impressive. Still, something occurs to Chikusa after a moment.]

[ Somehow that knowledge comes to her much more easily. Who knows why!! Must clearly be since Natsuru has a kitten, not like Minako had a cat during her life!! ]

Definitely something that isn't ball shaped though, or else he might try to eat that too!
