So this is just a hypothetical question (really, I swear on my shinki status) but what if a shinki gets named by someone they don't want to be named by, or if they change their mind later and the god doesn't want to let them go, do we have to go talk to some higher up god or can we just murder the god in question and get rid of the name we want to be rid of that way?

You think so? I don't.

In the first case using lethal force is completely justified. Forcing someone into service means that someone has every right to defend their freedom. Second, not so much.

The second case means a contract happened with the consent of both parties. Such oath isn't something you just change your mind about... at least in theory. In reality there might be some leeway and discussion of terms on how to terminate the contract so both sides are satisfied. You know, a compromise.

Straight-up murdering a god after agreeing to work with him sounds like an act of betrayal. Unless the god betrayed first, of course, then whatever shinki does is just a payback.
