This is Genos. Shinki to slavic god of hospitality, Radegast. If possible, I request assistance from those more experienced in workings of the Far Shore.

Today I've returned to my god's temple, with an uninvited guest.

[ A short video attachment, shows Genos chin down, with his shirt rolled high up, almost to the collarbone. That's it if he even had visible collarbones. The hatch on his chest is open, and in the cavity, among all the machinery, right next to the glowing blue orb, lies a kitten. Fur disheveled, and it seems to have hurt leg, but aside from that it's a normal, albeit homeless, kitten. It wakes up, blinks owlishly to the camera, yawns, and goes back to sleep, snuggling comfortably. ]


Should I assume I've been interacting with a ghost-cat from the start? It could see me, and tried to make me pay attention to it. Which is unlikely other inhabitants of the Near Shore.

However if it's not a ghost, would the travel to the Far Shore hurt it? Is there any official protocol on giving a temporary shelter to such Near Shore creatures?

Do they give you a lot of problems? [ antagonistic shinki under one roof, sound like a lot of trouble? ]

They're both fine toward me [He would've even said this about Add during the initial days of mistrust and angling for advantages though] but I don't think they like each other.

Add is kind of a special case on his own. [ kettle, pot, etc ] But I guess they don't have to like each other, if they can work with each other.

I've been taking them out for prayer duty individually. So far it's been working out fine, at least.

[Although Add seemed strangely moody after he completed a prayer with Ludger, for some reason]

It would be beneficial for you if they learned to cooperate. Better than having an armory with mutually exclusive weapons.

Neither are weapons. But I do think it'd be better for them to get along.

[scrap_metal]

They're your shinki, that's their role. Or job, one could say.

[ He really does often looks at himself, and that's what he sees, a weapon. But he understands that it might sound a bit dehumanizing, hence the addition of the job part. ]

I guess so. But they've still got hearts...

And since I'm responsible for them, I should look after them.

[ Hearts? That's kind of poetic ]

Sound like you're a good god for them. Mine seems to have similar take on responsibility.

It's good that you have a god who looks out for you.

This system relies on cooperative efforts after all.

But it's also restrictive based on that.

In some ways, I guess.

But a lack of strucure is also a problem, isn't it?

There's never a clear answer I suppose. Every system while providing structure will have its downsides.

No perfect system, right?

And this is more complicated than bits of code, in some ways.

[ Genos ponders a little longer on the answer. This conversation reminds him of the insecurity he feels about his role, and the heavens in general. At least he can try and write neutral reply. ]

It always gets complicated when people are involved. At least the goals are clear, and that's something to hold on to.

Objectives give us purpose, and something to move toward. So I'd agree with that.
