question. are ayakashi supposed to be able to get close to our temples? mega close nearly inside almost smashing stuff up, close?

i don’t think that’s normal-- but if it is i need to find away to protect my temple so it doesn’t happen again! it’s a real royal pain in my butt and not safe for my shinki either if i’m not there and it happens again! does anyone have any good ideas?

does my temple being on the shore have anything to do with it? bleh.

You can't kill ayakashi without a proper weapon. Don't offer to help with something if you can't follow through.

Of course it matters, ordinary weapons won't do anything against ayakashi. If you want someone to stand around as bait for you then pick someone else's god.

did i say i wanted him to act as bait? no. i mean if we were in a pinch together we could easily watch each others backs. i'd never let him get hurt for my sake.

What part of "he doesn't have a proper weapon" are you not understanding? It defeats the purpose of calling for assistance if the person you pick can't defend or attack effectively. What situation do you think is going to arise where a pocketwatch and a data drive are going to be more useful than your own abilities?

Bother someone who's actually equipped for it instead. It's less of a headache for everyone involved. [and he wouldn't really want to get involved in other people's problems anyway...]

wow have more faith in him, every shinki is useful in some way, and even if he doesn't have a weapon for a shinki doesn't mean he can't attack or defend. it's called teamwork. roxas is strong, i know it!

What Roxas can do doesn't really have anything to do with this. Call him if a shinki or god is harassing you, but my point remains. It would make more sense to bother someone else for matters involving ayakashi.

More importantly, he's not the only one who would be involved in that choice of action.

heh, okay i get it. roxas must mean a lot to you if you're so protective over him. that's great! i'm glad he has such a good friend. don't worry i won't ever let him get hurt. i won't get him involved with ayakashi that i wouldn't be able to handle myself. okay?

[... on one hand, it's really irritating that he's giving the wrong impression. Make no mistake, Add only cares because Roxas is his god. Either Add would be getting dragged into a dangerous situation along with him, or Roxas could get hurt or killed which might put Add's living situation at risk. He doesn't like Roxas, he just likes having a god with lax rules who looks out for him. That doesn't make them friends.

But... in this case, it's kind of to his advantage to call it that...

[Sora knows friend talk when he sees it. This conversation might have gone astray at the start because wow he'd never use Roxas as bait or get him hurt intentionally! But after thinking about it, it just seemed like Add was very protective and cared about Roxas' well being. He couldn't knock that. He respected the attitude a lot. Friends should care that deeply.]

And the same goes for shattering an object. If you feel like testing Ludger's durability, go ahead, but you're not using me for that if it's not a real emergency.

I wouldn't damage either of you like that, and I've never broken any weapon I've wielded.

That's because a melee weapon is intended to be used like that, so it would be designed to take heavy impacts. We don't have that guarantee because we're not meant to be used in that way.

Suggesting that shinki aren't meant to be used for the very thing they're meant to be used for...

But having said that, I won't force anyone who doesn't agree. I don't see a point in it. Neither will I ignore it if someone needs help.

A god's duties involve more than just fighting ayakashi. You can't answer every prayer with violence as a solution, so shinki can have other uses. [That's the explanation he's decided on, anyway, after the last time he asked about it on the network. Because the only other explanation is that he's useless...]

It's still my problem if you run off and get yourself killed because you wanted to fight an ayakashi bare fisted. And if you really wanted to help, you'd recommend them a more suitable god to call on for assistance. If they're calling you then that's already time wasted they may not be able to spare. You're being irresponsible.

You don't think it's possible to have more than one function? I'd think you're more complicated than that.

He's from my universe, Add. And unlike me, he's got a future. The only irresponsible thing would be to do nothing at all if he needed help. I never said I wouldn't take any backup with me, but I won't do nothing.

I don't really care about your universe. My point is that you're not properly equipped for this, which is a fact that cannot be disputed right now. Trying to engage an ayakashi that's already too dangerous for a lone god would be a reckless decision. If it's something Sora can handle on his own, then it's a waste of time. How do you expect to contribute or defend yourself?

I'd go alone if it came down to it. I may not be able to destroy them, but I am able to slow ayakashi down, if not inflict ailments to debilitate them.
