[Video - BBS - August 7th]

Heheh! Looks like the heavens decided to apologize for gettin' me all wound up about Mamori a little while ago. I woke up to check my e-mail alerts for new MGDP merch, and there was a program I've never seen installed on my laptop. Somethin' called Singaloid TiKi. I don't remember buyin' it, but it's pretty awesome - one of those vocal editing software packages. And there was even a video already installed! Check this out!

[Barry's already loaded the video onto his phone, so he just switches the feed over to it. Denizens of the Far Shore are treated to a video of what is ostensibly a virtual idol programmed by the software, but the quality of both the video and the sound are so good that it's hard to tell she's not a real person. The actual video he posts doesn't feature the cutaways or the other characters - just Tiki herself, singing the song on a dazzling virtual stage.]

Pretty amazin', huh! I'm gonna play around with it some more and see if I can come up with some more songs for Sparkle Motion. Remember to come see us at Obon - our show is really gonna blow you away!

[Action - Sparkle Motion - later that day]

Okay, everyone! We've only got a little bit of time left before the big show! Let's give it our best at practice today, and bring this thing home! And if anybody wants to try and write some new songs or come up with some new choreography...

[He turns his laptop around to show them the Singaloid software he'd recorded earlier that day.]

There isn't really much flair to something you'll find pre-programmed, is there.

[The quiet, awkward guy dressed head to toe in Uniqlo gear definitely looks like an expert on flair. On the other hand, Barry's seen him dance -- however timid he seems offstage, he's all about the artistic impact of his performances.]

Well, if ya play around with it a little, there's ways to make fancier moves.

[Barry grins, knowing exactly the sort of thing Yuuri probably has in mind.]

I'm just learnin' all that myself. That video from earlier was already on here when I started it up.

I'll have to try it out and see what it can handle. The video you showed us was definitely pretty impressive, at least.

[It does seem like the program's more naturally geared towards the music side of things, but that doesn't mean he can't get something interesting out of it.]

How are you feeling about the preparations for Obon? It's getting pretty close now.

Yeah... wish I knew who put it on there.

[But that's as far as that line of thinking goes. That way lies blight.]

I think we've got a pretty good lineup. Between Maria's singin', Demyx's guitar work, and your dance routines, we should be in great shape. Everybody's been practicin' real hard.

[Yuuri doesn't react out loud to that comment -- he just reaches for the ring he's taken to wearing on a slim chain around his neck. It's really no good to talk too much about that sort of thing...]

I think we're all pretty excited to have an event coming up. I haven't seen anyone slacking off or anything.

[It's a delicate dance, being a shinki. But at least they're both used to it. Barry definitely doesn't want to end up on the bad end of an ablution.]

And pretty soon all that hard work's gonna pay off! We might even impress a few of the gods, heheh!

I'd definitely like that. I don't know much about my new goddess yet, but I hope she'll enjoy what we've been working on.

[Yuri would have liked it, he's sure. He doesn't really know about his new mistress just yet. In an odd way, he guesses it felt like he and Yuri had something in common, sometimes, and he's not sure if he'll be able to have something like that again or not.]

How's it goin' at the new temple, anyway? Who's your new goddess?

[Barry always likes to make sure his talent is doing well in their personal lives. Everything affects the performance.]

It's... a really different atmosphere than the last temple I lived in. Bastet's temple was really ancient-looking, and the new place is a lot more modern. It's quieter, too, without Viktor around and all the cats around or Yuri making a fuss about things.

[That... sounded more melancholy than he meant.]

Ah, but my new goddess seems like a kind person so far! She's very clever, too, it seems like.

[It's okay. Barry knows what it's like to lose a god you care about. He reaches out to pat Yuuri on the shoulder.]

That's good. I'm glad things're workin' out for ya.

[Yuuri smiles up at him. It's a little bit thin, looks somehow like it might peel up around the edges and flutter away, but he is grateful for all the caring Barry has always shown him.]

Yes, they're working out. I'll just have to work even harder on our routines so I can impress my new goddess, right?

[Barry looks out for his people. That's just the kind of guy he is. And hopefully his own smile is contagious.]

You said it! Everybody likes a hard worker.

Or at the very least, no one likes their partners slacking off.

Yeah, that's another way to put it. I like my way better, though. Gotta look on the bright side!
