New here, or pretty sure I am. I might have been here before. I remember a guy who was a god, my god, but I just got here and I'm pretty damn sure I ain't no shinki.

It's giving me a serious case of the Twilight Zone feels here. Anyone else had this happen?

[A certain someone got themselves dead after Sora left and has come back as a god. Memory loss, yay!]

Also, does every temple come with a cat or three? The horse at least makes sense.

[And may have been left some pets.]

If you were here as a shinki before, then it'd make some sense that they're happy to see you.

Who was the god you remembered, though?

None of them have collars so what do I call them.

His name was Sora.

Give them names. They could be strays that you might've picked up, but didn't give collars, too.

[There's a bit of a pause there.]

I knew Sora. Afraid he left, though.

Two of them got collars. The other three? Not so much. The big white one has a blue ribbon around her neck, though, so she's def a kept cat.

Did he? That sucks.

[Part of Nari feels sad about that since he did want to meet the guy he remembered again. See if his memories were accurate.]

He did. It's unfortunate.

Kinda wanted to thank him. For not being a dick.

[Not used to people being nice to him, in all honesty.]

Sora's a good kid. He really isn't the type to be hostile towards anyone or act like one either.

[Being a dick, he means. And there's only ever been one person Sora's ever been hostile towards: Loki.]

[Izumo, Sora has been hostile to a lot of people. All bad guys. But Nari doesn't know this.]

So a rare genuinely good person?

[Bad guys deserve some hostility, don't they? And he's only ever seen Sora be hostile whenever Loki was mentioned.]

That's right.

[Loki must be a dick then and those need to be set on fire.]

I've only ever known two of those in my life. Too bad the third I met isn't here either now.

Think he might come back?

It's a little unfortunate.

...There's a chance, but the better question is if he does come back, will he remember his time that he spent here?

The word good and people don't tend to go hand in hand from what I've seen back home. All "good deeds" always come with a side of ill intent.

That's happened before? The coming back with no memories?

Equivalent exchange or something similar, I guess. You can never have a good thing without a price to pay for it.

It has. There's also been incidents in which a god can return as a shinki or shinki return as gods.

Makes me wish that honesty was more valued. Tell me up front you want something for a good thing you've done.

So I could wind up back as a shinki. That sucks.

If honesty was more of a popular thing, people might live better lives.

Heavens are a bit unfair in that regard.

And we'd have less murder and corruption.

[Not really. It's a nice thought, though.]

Sounds like life in general.

I like to think in the long run that people in general kind of suck.

Well, you're not wrong. People are far from perfect.

And those that claim they are need to be taken down a few notches.

One of human's biggest flaws. But they deserve it in the end.

Don't meet a lot of people with a similar opinion on others. Nice to know not everyone is jaded and thinks there's good in everyone.

Oh, there are definitely people like that here. I know a few people personally who has those views. It's a bit refreshing really.
