If you're a shinki, how do you know if you knew how to do something before you died? We all have skills and talents, I mean, mostly. I haven't found a whole lot of mine so far.

I feel like there's got to be something, though! So.

How did you remember?

Do I just have to try doing everything once?

actually i would like 2 know this as well so thank you 4 asking

like i know alot about flowers. idk why i dont think it fits?? i mean u can kinda guess if u are good at sports or things & my god has a libaray and its not my kinda thing so idk why i know so much about plants. i mean i dont really care that much about flowers but i still know all this stuff. its weird

You too, huh? I tried to rearrange some bouquets for our vases and it turns out I'm actually kind of good at it.

Gardening, too. But I just happened to try that because she has a big garden and it needed looking after.

I kind of like flowers, though, so maybe that's why I know? If you don't like them that IS weird

I never really knew about my abilities, but after discovering them, I simply did what felt natural to me and practiced with it.

But how did you discover them in the first place? Was it just by accident or did something happen?

You don't have to tell me if it's a secret but I'm trying to figure out what to do to figure my own out.

Right, I've figured that much, but it's hard to figure out what I remember how to do without trying it.

How did you do it? Or are you still working on it?

Well... I discovered a couple of things when I went to smash a watermelon. Turns out holding the stick in my hand like a sword felt, well, right somehow. Natural. So trying new things is one good way.

Huh. I should try some things out at the next training session, I guess. I don't know if I know any fighting techniques.

I think knowledge is more of a skill than a memory. At least it has been for me in my case. I can remember how to stitch a wound but can't remember where I learned to do it. Some things take longer to realize but I find reading things helps.

I think I know what you mean. I can still read some languages, for example.

Reading isn't a bad idea... maybe some basic textbooks so I could see what's familiar and what's not, that kind of thing?

I don't think I'm a doctor, anyway.

Seems like that's what everybody's saying, though. I just have to try things and see.

Honestly the reason I'm wondering is I want to figure out if I have any skills I can use to keep my goddess safe. Outside of throwing a punch. That's not that useful.

Why not, right?

It was pretty easy to figure out some things from stuff like how I was dressed or what I was carrying, but it's mostly just going out and doing, you know?

Though I can't say for sure I was good at jumping off the roof into the pool before, but I can definitely do it now!

Anyway yeah, I guess there's no shortcuts like I was hoping. I've just got to try things and read up on things, and it should work out!

I was just wearing this plain old bath house yukata when I got here, though. Not even a logo. Talk about useless, huh?

I've discovered that I'm naturally talented at nearly everything I set my hand to.

Somehow, I doubt that's how it works for everyone else. However, if you have an inclination toward onmyojitsu, perhaps you should research its techniques and spells.

I'm gonna look some things up, I was just hoping I could find a teacher before I got lost in the library again.

Yeah, like knitting! Knitting is great. I'm not sure I know how to knit.

I'm pretty good at mulching a flowerbed, though.

I follow my gut feeling by the little this world has been whispering to me. Or trying to.

Mainly, I've been figuring stuff out as I go along after a lot of trail and error.

[She figures the other guy is having trouble trusting the voices and feelings communicated to them from the Near Shore and Far Shore. Then again, she doesn't blame him since the feelings she has noticed there has been anything, but positive.]

I didn't know I could do some of the things I do until I tried it.
Like driving a boat! I had no idea I knew how to do that until Luna-sama and I went on a mission together. It felt like I was supposed to know how to do that.

But yesterday I woke up with a memory that I used to make costumes for idols. So I tried it out and my dream was real. And the other weird thing is that I had diving gear in my bathtub, and I don't think I've ever gone diving in my life. I tried the equipment out and found out I do know how to use all of it.

I think maybe it's muscle memory?

Yeah! That's how it's worked for me! Only I don't remember anything, not even in dreams.

Maybe I should say "haven't yet." It's happened to a bunch of us, so who knows?

Is your god an ocean god? Because it sounds like you'd be a great shinki for an ocean god.

It sounds like that's all I can do, just try things out and go with what feels right. I'm a little worried, that's all, because I feel like I should be able to do some things that're pretty complicated.

I'll look it up before I try anything, though! It probably just won't work if I do it wrong.
