Video; July 28th, about noon
[ The video begins at an unflattering upward angle on Gojyo's shell-shocked face. He's holding the phone at about chest height, the camera pointed at him. Judging from his expression, whatever he's looking at beyond the camera's view must be absolutely horrifying.
He opens his mouth to speak, closes it again, then looks down at the camera. ]
This is for anyone who knew Ekko. Chronos. [ He can't look away from the view in front of him for long -- his eyes are drawn back to it, again and again. ] He's dead.
[ He clearly considers turning the camera toward whatever it is he's been looking at -- it's obvious in the way he glances between the two -- but he decides against it. And there's really nothing more to say, is there? The feed goes dark. ]
(OOC: As of about 3pm on the 28th, nearly all of the remains have been gathered up and buried a the foot of a nice tree. There's no gravesite marker, but it should be obvious to anyone that somebody's recently buried something at the base of that tree, and the grave is shallow enough that if anyone wanted to dig it up, it wouldn't take much effort at all.)

[ Just don't die, okay? ]
Yeah, that's what I want.
[ She's tough, but there's a good heart in there. Working with her won't be so bad. And, bonus, her other shinki is a real person and not one of those terrifying soulless things!
He can definitely see himself being comfortable here. ]
Please name me, Aditi-sama.

[They're doing this then. He's had enough chances to change his mind. She can always revoke the name later, if the distrust and paranoia become too much again. Someone has to name him, and right now there are murderers and all kinds of untrustworthy folk running around the Far Shore.]
Does "Sha" still sound good, or is it a little too much like I'm branding you now?
no subject
Damn, you remember that, huh? [ He shrugs, pushing his own plate away. No telling what he's going to turn into, and he doesn't want to get the remains of his curry dinner all over his new form. ] That's fine. That's... yeah, that's fine.

Of course I remember, Sandy. [Sharak takes Gojyo's plate and puts it on top of hers, pushing both of them out of the way before turning to face Gojyo better. She doubts he'll turn into anything huge, but there's no way to predict it really.] Hopefully you won't turn into a piece of wool...
[Time to start. At least she has experience reading dumb spells.]
My name is Sharak Sanzo. Grasping thy true name, I bind thee here. With borrowed name, I dub thee my servant. The name answers, the vessel to sound. I call thee as my divine instrument. The name, Sha Gojyo. The vessel, Sha. Come, Shaki!

The world shivers around him in the old familiar way, and then he's
--dripping, soaked from scalp to shoe by storm. He's got Hakkai's limiters clenched tightly in his hand, a promise that he's going to make good on. Ahead, an unlimitered Hakkai is fighting an unlimitered Goku, although 'fighting' really isn't the world for it. Hakkai's beating the Seiten Taisei into pudding. There's blood everywhere, and he shows no signs of stopping.
But that's Gojyo's job. He comes up behind Hakkai, shouting something that's lost to the wind and rain, and grabs his friend under the arms, hauling him away from the broken boy on the ground. With a snarl Hakkai shoves him back, twisting about with inhuman speed and grace to casually smash the back of his fist into Gojyo's temple.
Gojyo staggers back. Hakkai pursues. He dies quickly, messily, almost painlessly, shredded with just a few gestures. Wearing an expression of vague confusion Gojyo's body hits the ground, and Hakkai turns back to Goku, Gojyo's death already forgotten--
smaller, seeing without eyes, hearing without ears, unable to feel the slight breeze that had been moving through the room just a moment before. He's bigger than his last form, but that's all he's able to tell. ]
What am I? Is it something good?

Sharak blinks and forces herself to relax. It's nothing. Just a dream.] Ah... Yeah, you're fine.
[She raises her hand and flips the sword around so that she can hold it in a better grip.] Well... You're fine enough.
[A sword is fine, she can work with a sword. She recognises the handle and the curve of the blade as a kukri sword, but just after the curve begins the sword ends in a jagged edge.]

[ In this form it's a lot harder for him to conceal his disappointment, and the embarrassment and shame that comes with it.
She's holding part of him, and it feels right to have her holding him -- not in a fun naked kind of way, but like... like holding hands, maybe. Like that's how she's supposed to touch him.
So if he's got a handle, then he must be, like, a knife, right? That's why he feels so tall and thin? What, is he a butter knife? ]
Maybe I've got powers that make up for it.
no subject
[Aw, don't feel bad, she really can work with this. All she really needs a shinki's vessel form for- at least, in Sharak's opinion- is for the final rending of an ayakashi. A broken sword will do just fine for that. She changes her grip again and makes a downward stabbing motion at the floor.]
You might have some more powers too. Can you see at all?
no subject
Yeah. It's weird being like this, 'cause I can see every direction at once.
[ It should probably give him a headache, but it just feels natural in this form, just like the stabbing motions she's making with him feel natural.
He's definitely a sword. That's cool He can be a small sword. It's not the size of the thing anyway, right? ]
Hey, we should go outside! Aim me at somethin', I want to see what I can do!
no subject
Are you expecting to fire energy beams or something?
[She's not sure they need a lot of space for this. Still, she indulges him and gets to her feet. Ducking through the nearby curtain wall leads them outside, where the sun has almost finished setting. There's clucking from the chicken coop at the foot of the hill, but otherwise the temple grounds have the pleasant silence of a summer evening.
With a small flourish, she points Gojyo's jagged end at a rock a few meters down the hill.] Go on.
no subject
That would be so cool!
[ He could fire lasers! That would be useful, and badass, too! Sharak flicks his tip at a rock, and Gojyo, thinking lasers, wills himself at the rock. ]
Boom! Explode! Pow!
[ The rock neither goes boom, explodes, nor pows. Instead, Gojyo's blade begins to glow with faint warm light, about as bright as a single candle's flame. ]
Come on, do something!
[ The glow brightens. ]
no subject
Pfft- [Sharak bites her lip to stop herself from laughing.] Yeah, I- I don't think that's going to help.
[And now he's glowing. Sharak raises the broken sword to hold him up against the night sky.]
You're very pretty, if that helps.
no subject
No it doesn't fucking help! [ He's glowing, like a kid's nightlight. He's got a stumpy blade, and his superpower is mood lighting. This is actually worse than being the staple remover. At least that thing had teeth! ] I can't fucking believe this. Change me back.
[ Please. This is too embarrassing. ]
no subject
[A broken sword is still a sword. All he needs to be able to do is rend.]
Sha Gojyo.
no subject
So, uh... I guess that's it?
[ He's rubbing the back of his neck again, but his new mark isn't there. He'll find it later, on his right thigh just above the knee. Sha, the character for thread, or gauze, or gossamer. Fine-spun and delicate, and about as far from his gun mark as you can get. ]
no subject
That's it. You're now officially a shinki of Aditi, for whatever that's worth. [Sharak waves her hand down the hill.] You remember about the barrier, right? You'll be able to invite people inside, if you need to. Otherwise it shouldn't be too different than what you were doing before. You can pick whichever room you want, the ones that are taken are pretty obviously so. There's holy water in the pond, if you need it.
[Sharak turns and starts to walk back inside.]
And you're not a guest anymore, so you're on dishwashing duty.
[The one who cooks doesn't have to clean, everyone knows that.]
