How would you define the word monster?


[A few recent conversations have gotten her thinking about certain things and she's genuinely curious about the answers she might get. Cardia is well aware that there are a few people who do know her secret and could probably guess that this is from her. But she's not brave enough to ask something like this without anonymity to hide behind.]

That's a hard one, isn't it? You know one when you see it, but how to describe us? We walk on two legs and we don't have tails.

Oh, but that's only for what looks monstrous. Things that commit monstrous acts, well. We say the acts they commit are inhuman, but it's only humans who are capable of such things. Bears and wolves don't commit murder, so to say.

Humans are not the only creatures capable of terrible acts.
Animals are perhaps a separate category, but it isn't as if humans are the only sentient beings.

Aaah, you must let Zeno apologize! This isn't something that was made known to me before! Gods and humans are all Zeno has heard the voice of.

It's a wise decision anyway. When humans make distinctions between land borders, Zeno can't blame non-humans for quietly standing by.

This world is nothing but things Zeno has never heard of. Like cheesy cake.

A sweet... it's not as good as chocolate, though. How they make the cheese from a savory food to a sweet one is beyond Zeno, however. Maybe someone will teach it one day!

If you're lucky the refreshments at the sun lady's parties might include a few.

Or Zeno will bring you one. Zeno is god of youth, and that certainly makes sweets into a subdomain, right?

At least, such is Zeno's interpretation.
